| Team Brood 2011 Limited Edition #1
Team Brood Limited Edition 35 Turn Doubles Epoxy Balanced Slotted Armature!!! This Limited Edition Features a new for crawling feature of a slotted armature. Years ago, Marc Rheinard used an armature like this to win the Touring Car World Championships. The slot in the arm basically frees up the arm as it rotates through the magnetic field. In crawling it will mimick a 4 magnet can to a degree, but you won't lose as much drag brake as you do with a 4 magnet can....since the arm has less steel, there is a little loss of torque, but they produce more overall power. I've gone over the benefits of a double before, so I will save most of my breath....basically, more copper....MORE power, torque, and RPM. Also, having gone over Epoxy Balancing before, these are Epoxy balanced so we are NOT removing any more steel, as with the slot a decent amount has been removed already. Only 30 Motors are being made, Sold in Pairs only... 15 pairs.....15 lucky souls! $149.99 plus Shipping $7 shipping in the USA (international rates vary) Motors are engraved on bottom, Forward (F) or Reverse (R). One motor is wired in reverse for the axle that needs it. Shaft is engraved with wind. Motors are Matched for Maximum Performance...Dyno tuned to be in sync with each other. Here are the specs 2 Magnet High Torque Can Laydown Brushes 5mm Slotted Armature Epoxy Balanced 9mm Comm 35 Turns of Dual 23.5 AWG Wire In the event there is a mad rush for these, I will be taking orders from existing Team Brood Customers first. I hope everyone understands in the event a few get turned away. Other than, in order of request on the thread is how they will be given out.....a PM from me confirms your pair. Motors are shipping 1/19/2011..... Don't forget to check out the Ceramic Bearing Upgrade at http://teambrood.com/catalog/product...roducts_id=126 (you need to buy TWO of these for the pair) No Coupon Codes, No Dealers, No Group Discounts, No Team Discounts.. ...though lap dances from hot chicks may sway me. Axle Busters are not going to be a limited edition........wouldn't be fair at all to everyone who wants to bust axles.... I am gonna start coming up with spiffy names for the LE motors though......since I sell motors with "lots of names"... Later EddieO |

Got to use these in a comp today... VERY smooth!! not as much torque as the 2010 LE's but i feel they were far better suited to my setup Thanks EddieO |

so just a question, what is a matched motor?? yes i understand what they say they are... But in an MOA where you lock the rear and spin the front 75% of the time after awhile are they still matched? i would'nt think so Way more com and brush ware on the front motor... |

You are correct, as power is run through them, typically the front will wear faster.....makes taking care of your motors important. Just like tires, brakes, etc on a real car.....front is always gonna wear faster and need to be replaced/rebuilt sooner to keep them in sync with the rear. While some of my competitors match the motors on the dyno in big batches of motors, simply matching up motors by dyno numbers once they are all dynoed. I find this not a very accurate way to do it.....its pretty similar to how batteries used to be matched.....effective for batteries, not so effective for motors.... I first make sure the motors themselves spec out similar to each other. Magnets, arms, etc are all measure on matched sets to be within a a certain tolerance of each other.....I then dyno tune them to be as close in power as output as I can......I have a tolerance I shoot for for each part of the process......its not fun keep track of stuff that's for sure. That's a different response to what I thought, of course I thought they were just Dyno matched lol but I is good to know you take the time to truly match them Makes your motors even better value |
