| problem with strc anodizing
Hello all. I just recieved my orange lockouts and orange knuckles from strc, and they are two radically different colors of orange. The knuckles are almost red. Did strc change their orange shade? The lockouts match my axial links exactly but the knuckles are not even close. They are listed out of stock on the website and not to be a picky bastard, but...I'm a picky bastard. Axial doesn't make orange knuckles, and neither does GHH. If I can't get a match, I 'll prob end up going black. Anyone have insight? Last edited by Crawlorado; 12-24-2008 at 01:47 PM. Doing some colors in annodizing do come out in different shades... but I'd contact STRC and see if they can exchange them or something.

a good way to get rid of the color if you want to paint it black is to use oven cleaner and mild soap to clean it off. dry and paint ASAP to keep it from oxidizing. |

look at the package that the parts came in, it will say-'made in Taiwan', just like my 4 link batt tray says. STRC doesn't make them, they just sell them. Good luck on getting them to return it, they wanted to charge me a 20% restocking fee because I wanted to return an unopened part that I didn't need.

Thanks for purchasing our products. As other have mentioned, it is a challenge at times to match up color consistently from batch to batch of production run. Orange being one of the hardest color to match. If you like, please send me your contact information via email (stevewang@teamstrc.com) and I can keep you updated on when the next batch of the knuckles arrive and we can send you another set to see if that matched up better with your rear lock-outs. Also, it is better to email us then to post on the forum if you're looking for customer service. I do try to browse through the forum as much as I can, but email is best Steve Wang STRC | |
