Default Crawl Spec - Slug retainers for VP SLW wheels

Crawl Spec introduces the Slug Retainer Kit for VP SLW wheels.

Works with V1 and V2 SLW 1" wheels.

Can be used on the front axle of an XR10 with 225 VP hubs. Bergs will require VP knuckles and a wider hub to work on the front axle.

*** Please take note of VP's warning for running weight in the SLW wheels, shown in the SLW description on VP's website. You are ultimately responsible for the wheel if it is damaged from added weight. ***

** You will need 1.9 VP slugs (not included) **

* 1 Kit is needed for 2 wheels. You will need 2 Kits for 4 wheels.

1 Kit includes the following:

2x - The slug 'cradle' for lack of a better term, is the piece that press-fits onto the VP hex hub.

2x - The retainer ring. Snaps in between the back side of the slug and the hex side screw ring.

2x - Thin, clear, outer ring that is sandwiched between the outer VP ring and the wheel. This ring is 0.030" thick (think of a lexan body), so it should not affect the tire/wheel in any negative way.

This photo shows the items included with 1 kit (the blue ring is actually clear, it has a protective film on it):

Pricing is $25 per pair (includes shipping in the US).

Very cool design. I'm now on the lookout for some SLW V4's for the front. Did you ever find out if the regular 2.2 weights will work with the V4's?

The 2.2 slugs will not work with the V4's with out modification to the slug or hex hub. The hex hub over laps the space where the 2.2 slug would fit.

I actually got a set from the classifieds here, but I passed the info along to a few friends. I'm pretty sure you should be getting some more orders shortly. I may also order another set after I try them.

Here's the Slug retainers along with a set of Delrin Beadlock Rings that MTHead cut for me. These things fit absolutely perfectly. There is no slop whatsoever and the hold the weights perfectly. A very nice product.
