New Page Fail Solitaire

MRC, I have been thinking about it. maybe I put a couple ultra slims in each bag, it seems unlikely that you would need to adjust both axles with such a small increment. Initially I had thought, will people really care about being off by 1/16th-1/8th...

Re: Presenting Shifts, Lightweight n' Flexible Offset Hubs

Sorry, I missed your reply here.

I agree 1/16" seems somewhat ridiculous; but todays rigs are getting interesting.

I'm thinking of the mini axle that just needs that extra 1/8" overall to get right to the legal max for stability.

Or maybe a sporty that's rubbing the shocks more than you'd like, just a bit is handy there too.

For my mini super build, I'm trying to keep a big axle as narrow as possible, yet leave some room for knuckle weights.

That 1/16" would narrow a total of 1/8" or add as much. When your trying to sqeeze a 9+ rig through a 12" gate, it's a lot.

Could be I'm in the extreme minority....

I will make up a bunch of 1/16th spacers and bring them to NENC as handouts. I'll get some in the users hands and you guys can tell me how helpful they are.

The Shift Hubs are awesome! I put a set on my Yeti, and it makes it so much easier to "tune" your offset! I didn't have to spend hours researching, trying to figure out which SLW hubs I needed! All I had to do was figure out which of the included spacers I needed to use on my Yeti. Took a total of 5 min.!!! LOL!!
If you're looking at these, or considering getting a set, buy them!! These are awesome!! Not to mention, BC-Brian is great to deal with!!

What are the min-max offsets that can be made for all 4 hubs with one of you hub kits? Can you buy spacers separately if needed/wanted? Id there additional hardware needed?

There is ~2" worth of spacers in each kit that you can put where ever you like. You will need to find screws long enough to go through your wheels, spacers, and hubs. These are not supplied cause it is different for everyone. If you want to order some shoot me a pm.

Just edited this...read through this whole thread...ready to purchase some...do you have regular or slim in stock? What is the benefit of the regular over the slim?

Looks like an awesome product!

What are you guys using to mount the shifts hubs on your Vanquish wheels? The heads to all the ones I have are too big, is there something we can use where I don't have to modify the wheel to accept the bigger screw head?

The blank holes in the shift hubs are drill holes for #4-40 threads. You can just tap then and then use the standard Vanquish hardware.

I get that but I need longer hardware to run them with all the spacers on my U4 racer. I'm ok with using M3 hardware just need smaller heads to fit my wheels...

BC-Brian 06-20-2016 01:59 PM

Re: Presenting Shifts, Lightweight n' Flexible Offset Hubs

You can't really get m3 Screws with smaller heads, they are what they are.

I think if you want to get them to fit without modifying your wheels you have 2 options:

1. Tap the #4-40 holes in the shift hubs and get longer hardware from the store to use all your spacers.
2. Get the correct length M3 screws, put them on a lathe and reduce the head diameter (or cobble something together with a drill and a demel)

You can get M3 socket head screws with a 4.5mm diameter head, same dia. as M2.5 screws, standard M3 heads are 5.5mm dia. But the screws come out of China and only in one length (M3 x 6). Currently the only option I've found for small dia. head M3 screws.
