After the dig unit is installed it doesnt look much bigger than the standard ax-10 setup and since its all plastic its prolly ligter and should work smoother. time will tell

SWEET, A SEMI RELEASE DATE! I am driving to Hayden, ID and getting one the day it drops!

Looks like the servo will bolt to the two holes in the center on the end of the battery tray. so unless you wanna fab more mounts, gotta keep the tray?

Easy there Mc Angry. He is giving his opinion and that is the contribution. Just because you do not like it does not mean it is invalid.

When the new dig comes out for the Venom. Do you need to get
different drivelines for it. Or does it come with the kit?

Come on guys....Venom has a web-sight...look what i found

I believe it BOLTS to the side of tranny. It looks like it won't make anything much bigger than it is. Put an ax10 w/DNA dig tranny up next to the Venom tranny, not that big of a difference. I was there for the build, the car is pretty cool, needs some improvement, JUST like the AX10 did or does

someone should make a universal dig, one that is the actual drive shaft. you would just buy the drive shaft but it would have the contraption on it that you would hook the servo to.

I don't like that idea, driveshafts get beat up pretty bad, I would prefer the dig on the tranny/t-case

It looks like the dig unit bolts on after you've removed the plate that closes in the trans opposite the motor. Not sure though cause it looks like the outputs are on the wrong side. Would really only add about another 1/2" to the depth of the trans.

But I here ya on the size thing, The Venom trans is already a monster. I have no idea what made them think they needed that many gears inside a trans.

It doesn't look like it adds too much as compared to normal, if I wanted a dig on mine I'd try it. Like I've said though, its not the size of the tranny, its that point that hangs down and catches everything that made me switch it out.

PS, who keeps stealing my picture

With the little skidder on the front of mine im not haveing problems anymore

And like I said before Take an AX-10 tranny with a VF dig and add steele outputs so you stop breaking the weak aluminum ones then drop it on the scale. Then take the vennom tranny and do the same with its dig installed. Lets also add the extra weight of a full sized servo needed to get the Vf working well Vs the mini needed to work the plastic vennom dig

The Vennom tranny is also not as wide as the AX-10

Now lets build an ultra light chassis with a narrow belly useing that big ol cow of a tranny as a stressed member and save more weight

Its good to hear your little skid is helping and I agree 100% about everything else you said. Even the stock tranny w/out dig weight is nearly identical to the Axial and they seem like the strongest tranny out there.
