Default Novak Goat Crawler Motor/ESC

Order a green Venom yesterday.... First crawler.....First car in many years. I also ordered the Novak Goat Crawler Motor/ESC. Is this a suitable power system for the Venom?

Rear steer is cool I guess, but it is not comp legal and you need to put down some coin for a good reciever.

I'm basicly a plane/heli flier so I'll be using a Spektrum DX7. I'm thinking I'll be driving the front as if it were ailerons and the back as if it were a rudder.

I'm using the dx6i, I'm plane/heli flyer, also raced off road so adjusting to stick steering was not to hard.

I have mine so that rudder is steering and elevator is throttle, just for the fact if I let go of the elevator, the stick goes back to neutral and the rig stops. So you may want your main steer on the rudder.

That's what a friend and I did and we both love the rear steer. Our local comps have been loose with the regs so it hasn't been a problem, but if you want to try competing and they don't allow it just find a way to lock it out.

Once you get the rear steer going do watch for loss of power or control as the BEC may get overloaded. I now have a CC BEC rated at 10A, shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Have fun.

I'll probably will leave the throttle on the left so I don't mess up my flying skill coordination. The Goat comes with a 5amp BEC. I'm going to have front, back steering, remote diff lock and dig unit. Is a 5amp BEC enough?

for $24.00 I would get the 10amp CC bec and power just the steering servo's off it.

and for the dig you will have to make your own shaft dig for now(take a look at my thread), because there is not even a possible release date for the factory dig as of yet.

Ratz, I just pre-ordered one. Thought I saw a release date of late May.

No, no release date, even on venoms site. You can also take a look at what the venom rep says about it in the factory support thread.

That's where most cars have the throttle when using twin sticks, even way back when there existed 2 CH twin sticks.

We had the Rooster Crawler which has the 5A BEC and were having occasional problems, just wait to see how yours do as it depends on all the components used.

What is the difference between the Goat and a Rooster? Other than the Bush/Brushless thing.

Do they even make the Rooster anymore?
