Default AX10 chassis plates, will they fit....

Just bought a venom about 2 weeks ago and im modding as I build it, First, its going to have an AE-1 esc, fireball 55t motor, proline tuber bolt on cage that original fits a AX-10 and JR racing XS3 fm radio with reciever. The esc will be replaced down the road hopefully for a Novak rooster. My question, has anyone ever replaced the venom chassis plates and used some from a AX-10. Im thinking that if the plates are changed, maybe the proline cage will fit better. thanks for any input.....

The AX-10 and the Venom plates don't share any common hole layout. The AX-10 chassis would need all new holes drilled to mount all the venom 'guts' and as for mounting the trans to and AX-10 plae ... not sure if it'd work. Didn't look like it to me. The way i did it is probably about the easiest route to go, and actually mounts lower than it would on the AX-10 chassis plates anyway.

i used a axial x trail chassis and it worked great, i just had to file out 2 of the holes a very little amount. im about to put the bender chassis on the creeper now and its the same deal...

Just got the AX10 chassis plates in and have already mounted them, the only think that I had to modify was 1 hole on each side, I mounted the plates on the stock venom skid plate, got pics but since I cant post them yet, if anybody wants to see them, I can e-mail them to you, still waiting for the proline tuber to come in, it should be easier to bolt on since it fits a AX10 chassis. Thanks

P.S.
if you try this, make sure you modify the same hole on each side....

Thanks for doing that, the electrics are in a temp place until I get my pro-line tuber in, then I can see where they will work the best...

So I gotta ask.. What's the advantage of using this chassis over the stock one? Is the geometry such that it will crawl better?

I think it was because he plans to use a Pro-line tuber chassis. Rather than modify the body like I did, he used an AX-10 chassis to reach the same goal. Nice work.

It was for the pro-line tuber but I also think that the shocks are more vertical and maybe they will work a little better, I like the way the stage 2 changes the position of the shocks but I think that it makes them more at a slant. after i get the tuber bolted up, I'll take some more picks, thanks everybody for the info and the comments......

Default Updated pics....

Here are some updated pics with the pro-line tuber mounted, Wanted some color added so I painted it yellow using Krylon Fusion paint that I picked up at the local wal-mart..... will post more when I get the electrics and tires mounted. Also will be adding side panels, hood and a roof as soon as I decide what to use....

Don't buy that one from HotRacing. It's completely stolen idea from one of our own.

check out page 12.

SPV2 - FLM Chassis Build

Buy an SPV-2 and support the real designer.

FYI - On the chassis fitment subject RC4wd's diablo chassis is a direct fit to the Creeper's skid plate. a 2mm spacer inside each plate allows fitment of the DMG tuber body as well. ;)
