just out of curiosity, if you were to make the battery tray/servo mount out of Delrin... what thickness would you use? Also would you use the same thickness to make the chassis and skid?

I am interested ... how did you physically mount the transmission to the chassis / skid plate ? Did you drill into it ? Really good sticky tape ? Pictures ?

I make my stuff out of G10 sheets both for chassis plates and servo plates. Strong stuff and very durable.

1/8" G10 sheets.

As for the transmission, the side w/ the small aluminum plate and those 4 screws is what I used to mount the transmission on its side. When I bolted the transmission to the skid plate, I had to remove to protruding plastic screw mounts (basically where your stock bottom links get screwed to on the transmission) to flatten it. The transmission and the aluminum plate were both secured onto the skid plate by 4 small 2mmx14mm machine screws. 2mm is small but it's holding up very well.

That's a good thickness for chassis plates, but for less weight, I would use 1/8" for servo plates.
