| I can let you know in a couple of weeks...my 2s goat 18.5 just showed up today but I'm still waiting on my creeper; should be here tomorrow. Although, mine's going to be a trail truck, not a crawler... |

yea dont think the drive train will hold the power, that combo has insane torque and wheel speed would work in a rock force though

I run that setup Goat 3 18.5 and it rips .Acouple of my friends run it as well. It has unreal torque and the wheel speed is just retarded. It can and will strip gears, so be careful. If a tire binds super bad and you try and just power out of it it will wipe the gear clean. I think that will probably ring true with any plastic gears. It doesnt happen all the time and if you get it dialed in it shouldnt be a problem. But for the setup and until you get used to it order an extra set of gears they are only like $8. When you put the system in be sure to program all of the settings like the throttle profile ,engine braking ,etc... that ESC has lots of settings to play with.. Buy it you will not be dissapointed. Guaranteed

You might think about the 21.5 brushless if your going to be doing more crawling.

I'm waiting on my ballistic 18.5 to show up from tower. I'll be using it on a goat 2s in my creeper. My other option is an lrp 21.5 with a mamba max pro on 3s/4s but I think that will stay in my scx10. I'm just hoping the voltage doesn't kill the motor.

The 18.5 is perfect. I have not tried the 21.5 though. The 18.5 has so much torque that I cant see giving up any of the available wheelspeed. The 18.5 is plenty on the torque

I put the 18.5 2s in the kids (9yrs old) creeper. put Traxxas drive shafts in it and haven't had a prob with breakage, and you know how kids are. Good wheel speed too. He's been running that for almost a year.

I just put in the goat 18.5 set up in my creeper with 18t pinion and my esc ran pretty hot. whats a good pinion to put in a creeper with this set up, I don't care about going too fast I just want to crawl with this.

All this talk about Mambas and Goats makes me think $$$... Seriously, HobbyKing has an ESC http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=7186 which draws 20Amps MAX for CHEAP and if you find the right KV outrunner http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=7705 you won't be disappointed with the performance for the pennies you spend on your power system... To make my Creeper move with decent wheelspeed and enough torque to break tranny gears I spent about $40 CDN... With the doller the way it is now (about Par) you could easily afford to go brushles in your crawler for CHEAP!!! Just my 2 cents... |

I have that esc for my hpi sprint 2 drift But I was told if you wanted to go brushless in a crawler you need a sensor-ed set up Thats why i got the novak 2s 18.5. should i just get another 9t pinion for it like the stock one so my esc doesn't get so hot?

I think out I figured out why my esc ran so hot, I had the drag brake set at 7 now its at 3 and it doesn't get as hot. but now it creeps slowly down the rocks.
