Default Transmission Locked

Ok, I have a new problem. For some reason, the tranny is locked up. I give it throttle, and you can see the drive shafts try to move, but they don't. I disconnected them from the front and rear diffs, and it still won't turn. Wheels/axles turn fine while disconnected from the drive shafts. Any ideas before I start tearing into the tranny??

Try pulling your inspection cover off of the back of the tranny and get a flashlight and see if you can't see anything like stripped gears or whatnot. If you don't see anything than its a possibility your bearings siezed up. Either way the trans will have to come out.

Hope this helps

It happened to me twice caused by motor pinon moved. Just make sure the motor screws are tight and redo gear mash again and it's done.

I think I found the problem:

This is the inside of the DIG unit. Now to see where that screw came from!

judging by the length of that screw, im thinking if you bought a safari, it maybe a motor mount screw. possible that when it was being built the person could have droped it the tranny when installing the motor. instead of fishing it out they left it in there...im not a fan of rtrs...just found that my associated b4.1 rtr was missing 3 screws that hold on the motor plate. one, ok but 3 no...either they werent installed or were left loose...

Yep, it was a Safari, so it was already built. Must have been in there from the factory. There were no screws missing anywhere that I could see, so it's bonus!

Oh, forgot to mention one important thing...when the driveline locked up, it caused the ESC to smoke! Couldn't handle the overload in current I guess. But as usual, Venom customer service is great and they are sending me another one!!

same thing happened to mine. 20 mins out on the rock pile and i heard some noises. had a screw in the tray that chewed up everything. theres a gear that has 4 screws that holds it on. looks like one of yours came loose too.
