anything with metal shafts. I like my G-made carbons.

IMO the only worthy upgrade shafts are the MIP set intended for the short wheelbase SCX. I've run the Junfacs/Gmades in the past and have learned to hate them. The slip portion is a D-shape and binds horribly when under torque. This puts a lot of extra strain on the pinion and trans output bearings, as well as making the suspension behave unpredictably. The Junfacs/Gmades also won't operate at as steep of an angle as the MIP's or Traxxas U-jointed shafts will. |

Yeah the carbon shafts don't slip. I am having luck with the gmade plastic shafts though. Go MIP if you can. |

I have never had a bind issue... Sent from my RM-845_nam_vzw_100 using Board Express |

The Junfacs/Gmades seem smooth enough for the first couple hours of use. Keep running them, you'll eventually see what I mean. I know a design flaw when I see one, and a D-shape for a slip spline is definitely one of them. |

I would agree normally and felt that way when I got them. However I have over 20hrs on mine at this point and the work fine, I do grease mine though. I have noticed very little ware on them. Sent from my RM-845_nam_vzw_100 using Board Express |

I ran the carbon shafts for a while. They work and they are strong but they don't like to slide. Take yours out. Put some twist on them with your hands and try to slide them in and out. You will feel what we are talking about. I have lost several pinion bearings and I suspect it was due to this. Greasing helps but they simply are not as nice as MIPS or any other steel splines shaft out there.

Ok well them MIP's sound like the best choice. they have to be better then whats on it. Stampede shafts just wernt deigned for this kinda of abuse. This 45t motor almost twists the yokes off. on my second set rite now. The other issue im having is the set screws that holds the pins in the axles keep backing out on me. ive put loc tite on them and still they back out. I just ordered some venom safari axle pin retaining colars so ill stop having this issue. Im thinking this will be a pretty good crawler once i get all the kinks ironed out.
