Default My Blackjack

Swapped in my TLT comp axles, and this is the first testdrive with no tuning on it yet. Has a little torquetwist that I will be dialing out directly.
Front R&P blew some teeth 5 minutes after I started crawling, but I still crawled for an hour after that with half the teeth gone, which really let the front end slip, so it wasn't as capable as it will be with a couple fresh sets of R&P's.
Enjoy.

Thanks for the video I find the little Blackjack with full droop set up interesting and it was informative watching it attack some pretty vertical climbs. Have you tried any other spring/ shock oil combinations yet?

Rick-
I like how it crawls, and my CG is lower. I give almost every chassis on the market a try, but don't usually post up about them. Still need to give Austin's(Gatekeeper) a try yet.

And thanks Rick.

I am running a sprung setup, droop doesn't work for me on a comp rig. I haven't tried anything different, as this was the first run with these axles and setup.

It lets the front end do most of the work and lets the rear just trail along, at least that's how it works in my head

Too much traction sometimes, like yesterday when I blew the R&P, I was high centered and the fronts wadded up trying to pull me over and boom

Thanks, I've made some changes to it since then, and it's working much better now. I need to get some fresh footage of it....maybe this weekend

bringing this one back from the dead...help a newbie out.

In this video, can you explain what you're doing with your dig at the 0:35 mark to get you up and over without falling backwards? It looks like you're locking the rear until you get it on the rock and then what? Are you freewheeling the rear or engaging it?

I don't run freewheel on any of my rigs, just 4wd and brake. I just engage the dig, let the fronts bite, and reengage 4wd as it starts to climb. Knowing when to reengage the 4wd so it isn't too soon and flip you over backward just takes practice and knowing your rig and how it is going to react.
