Default Which Hard Drive Camera

What cameras are you guys using for your Hard drive Hi-Def videos. It seems I can find really inexpensive ones with few features, or really high priced ones with all sorts of stuff. Not sure if it's really needed.

I like to edit my video and I do like some zoom... so any names or specs on cameras would be great.

I'd like to hear about

Bat life
Recording time
brand / model
and link me to a sample of what you have shot if there is something on here.

Thanks!!

yeah JVC is nice. I use a JVC GZ-HD7..its kinda over kill for just shooting RCs (the battery doesn't last too long either), but its nice to have full manual control.

sample

also, you may want to look at some of the super zoom compact cameras. They can take nice pictures and shoot HD. Casio EX-FH20, Canon PowerShot SX1 IS or SX10 IS..

here's a review for the Canon

here's a sample if what the Casio can do. It can't shoot HD in high speed mode, but its a really cool feature.
