wow cool rig!
did you modify the clutch at all? i ask cause you seem to have really smooth control of the throttle and the clutch doesnt appear to be making it jump or buck on the rocks like some ive seen. a really low gearing i guess would really help too.

Looks like it's still working good Matt I'm glad you're still improving/working on the nitro crawler.

Thanks guys.

The running gear is an 18th buggy 2spd trans mated to an RC4WD R2 trans which provides a ridiculous amount of gearing. Just modified the output on the 18th trans to fit the 8 tooth pinion, made a plate underneath to bolt both gbox's to.

The clutch now has traxxas shoes and a harder spring, the shoes needed chopping down some to fit in the 18th size clutchbell. The clutch works as normal because of the gearing so it can engage at normal engine revs but the trucks still going uber slow.

The build thread is here Nitro Crawler

I just shot some more vids the other day and they will be on here soon.

Does the 2 speed pose any issues on the rocks? It would seem like the switch from low to high would potentially cause problems. Got to love the noise and the scale look all in one.

^ Naa Ive set the 2 speed to come in real late so that you got plenty of revs before 2nd.
