Default Tri-pods

What do you guys use for tri-pods for catching video?

I found it was really difficult in some spots to get the right angle. For the best footage,I feel you really need to get down on the cars level. Hard to do unless you want to lay in the dirt all day while driving.

I had an idea while at work one day and thought I'd try it. I had one of my indicator bases that the fine adjustment was broke. Since I never throw anything away, thought I'd try to put it to good use. I put a 1/4 20 bolt in where the indicator normally goes so my camera can screw on to the base.

Now,no matter where I'm at or what angles the terrain is,I can place my camera at dang near any angle and get down on the cars level for the best footage.

Works AWESOME!

The base is a magnet. I glued a piece of rubber to the bottom of a 4" x 4" piece of 1/4" steel plate. Provides a really surdy base that won't slide around on the rocks.
