| Honcho... Submarining :D
Hey guys, So i water proofed my honcho... And instead of following the norm which is to follow the procedures to waterproof your kit in so you can run in snow, rain or puddles hopes it holds out... I decided to follow the procedures and actually get wet and push the limits of the waterproofing so that when i do use it in the rain, snow and puddles i can do so with out worry! So.. -Popped open my servo and packed it with Dielectric grease then coated the whole thing with Plastidip. -Put my Reciever into a ballon... Zip tied the end added some digrease and then ziptied again so i have a waterproof grease barrier.. - Running a Traxxas XL-5 Esc which is claimed to be waterproof out of the box. - Running a 3S Turnigy 2200 20C Lipo ( no LVC ) And well everything went better than expected Only issues that i came across i stated during the video. - Kit was too light, so when i got into deeper water the kit started to float and could not drive.. lol - The 2.4 radio system was useless once the receiver was submerged! So it would stop dead in its tracks! So.. Here is the Video! Make sure you change the quality to the best : ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPMqPMypFLc |

Mine will sink to 4" above the rcvr, and will still get signal if I'm standing above the truck. Looks like you need to vent your cab, that was what was holding you up. |
