Default Return of the Micro-Jeep

Well,

Dusted off the Micro-Jeep and did up a quick vid of some indoor crawlin' this afternoon.

Color is a bit off in the video due to me completely and foolishly ignoring the poor lighting. Oh well, vid still turned out to my liking.

Enjoy!

P.S. Some questionable content in the music...........may wan't to turn it down if you're at work. ;)

Uh..............not quite. The video is of my 1/25 scale custom indoor crawler. It uses SSMT axles, but most of the truck has been done from the ground up.

Here is the build thread:

Project: MICRO-JEEP

So to answer your question, Bknight, if you want one, you need to get creative and build one.

Check out the "Scale" forum for ideas and info, there are a couple of other SSMT-based rigs being done up there now too.

Thanx guys.

Glad to hear you liked it.

The song is "Synplicity" by ZUG IZLAND featuring ABK, Jamie Madrox, and Blaze Ya Dead Homie.

Uh................what?

The wheels do turn in a standard fashion. There is a frame mounted servo that turns the front wheels via a pushrod and draglink, just like in a larger vehicle/crawler.

You can see this detailed a bit on page 2 of my build-up thread:

Project: MICRO-JEEP

It works well for the most part, but there is some bump steer when the front axle is unloaded fully (50% of the suspension travel is negative). Of course, that is to be expected with almost any frame mounted servo set-up.
