| Axial XR10 in Joshua Tree
Howdy folks... Making another attempt to post my XR10 crawler vid here. As mentioned in the YouTube description, more beauty shots crawling in a cool environment than hardcore technical crawling. I don't run my machine that often, and this is my first video. Had a great time filming it, though! Hope you enjoy it... ...Dave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAlNYKzZef0 |

| Re: Axial XR10 in Joshua Tree Indeed it was! The map link in the YouTube description doesn't seem to pinpoint the exact location. The Cottonwood Spring campground is basically a loop. If you walk out the east side of it and head due east, you'll run right into the area I was filming. Thinking of heading to Jumbo Rocks next time, but we might need a 1:1 crawler for that. |

Thanx for the kind words! I was inspired by Tim Magee's camera work: https://vimeo.com/user2610766 His build page: The 'Hoss'- tmy's SWX Berg w/full BTA steering Of course, he was shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II, and was able to pop the aperture and get that nice depth-of-field. I was shooting with a couple iPhones, and while they don't really do DOF that well, I was really surprised by how sharp the full 1080P video turned out (no doubt helped by the locked out tripod shots and abundant lighting). I used the GorillaPod 'coz I was filming alone and couldn't work both the camera and the crawler. I'm also not a big fan of the handheld shaky-cam stuff, although I might get another pair of hands out on the next run to do some smooth tracking shots. ...Dave |

Great video! Joshua Tree looks amazing. The terrain is beautiful. Ive never really seen an XR10 in action before. Seems to go over anything with ease. Nice work!
