WOW. You beat the crap out of those things. I can't believe how tough the hardbody is. I have one of these that I have been building slowly, makes me want to get my butt in gear on it.

Thanks,
Casey

ok ok ok wait. Those Tamiya F350's are about 380 bucks and all you take is the axles and body (well, half of it) and a few other misc parts and buy a different chassis? Seems like an awful waste of money to me.

How are your electronics still working after running completely under water? Do you have them all water-sealed? If so, how??

Nah...most of the guys just buy the body seperately, though some of them buy the High-Lift and mount a different body on that chassis. I just used that for the movie...but like you imply...spending 380 bucks for the front half of a body that you're going to destroy is a bit ridiculous.

As for the electronics...well...they didn't work very well. The green rig got fished out of the water because it stopped working entirely for a little while (it works now though), and the orange rig started acting up after it got out of the water as well. I believe both rigs work perfectly fine now, though I still don't suggest sending electronics that you care about under water. These guys just don't care...but they don't care because they're running XRS's (pieces of sh!t as far as I'm concerned), and cheap servos (645's or ST126's), not high end stuff. The only thing they're even remotely concerned about are the Spektrum Rx's...but they're pretty hard to fry...as are the rest of the components apparently. I'd guess that has something to do w/ the lack of current flowing through them. Oh ya...the other thing they try to protect (but fail) are the ThunderPower 2000 mah LiPo's that they run. They put them in baggies...but the bags let water in after a while...so that really doesn't do much.

In the end...well...if you're not willing to sacrifice everything electrical on the rig to the crawling gods...don't send it swimming. If you just don't give a damn...well...I promise...it's a helluva lot of fun.
