I've been in there for a while already.

Got busy and made some trinkets for the ol' girl today...

Well, I'm about 70% done with my Wraith so hopefully I can get her done by spring and make a few trail runs with you guys. 48 degrees this morning when I got up at 5 makes it feel like spring is right around the corner, oh wait, I'm in the Wisconsin forum section, the temp is due to drop about 30 degrees in the next day or so.

That's good to hear, Tim. Sure would be nice to round up a few more trail guys for some runs. Sounds like Walter is ready too .

Nice D-rings Super, cotter pins drilled and bent? I think I've seen that trick before, good idea .

Maybe I should get at least one of my basket cases up and running, it's rebuild season!

Yeah, stumbled across a thread on here yesterday on using 1/4" cotter pins, so I ran out and got some. Took an hour and a half, that's including the trip to the hardware store. Now on to tow straps.

Dawg, did you ever order those speed gem motors. I just ordered 2 last night. I had a $25 off if you spend $49.99 or more for Tower. Hope they work out.
I think they're still a little pricy at almost $36 a piece, you can get Holms motors for that $.

Got mine for $28 each . The first thing I noticed was the brushes: bright shiney COPPER! Unlike the last crap Integys I bought. I haven't tested them yet, but I'm expecting good things.

With the discount it came out to about $28 with shipping. Where did you get yours?

I forget, I might have ordered them direct from Trinity's website.

There just aren't many options out there for inexpensive quality motors. Trinity seems to be the low priced leader in decent rebuildable choices. Integys might be ok if you upgrade to some high quality brushes, but that adds another 5-6 bucks....now you might as well go for something better for that price.

I'm gonna bet that the price is a little cheaper now because they are trying to get into the crawling market. As soon as that happens the price will go up. If Holms had 35t's in stock I would have bought from him. I don't understand why 35's are so hard to find some times.

I hear ya. There's plenty of cheap "closed endbell" (throwaway) motors, but the drawback is that the brushes are too small to handle the amp draw and heat of low speed/high torque running. I'm gonna give the Trinitys a chance. I ran thier Monster Horsepower stock 27's for years when I raced back in the day, good stuff .

So you're just going to wander around aimlessly?

No, I'll have my controller in my hand and follow behind my truck, unless there is too much snow.
