| Scale comps?
Hey guys, I have been poking around for a few weeks now, and am looking forward to stopping by at the next comp to meet a few of you, and watch and learn! Do you guys do much scale comp at all? From plugging around here I see you guys do some trailing and stuff. And I saw a post elsewhere about the 2012 scale comp rules, and it intrigued me! I have an XR-10 kit on order to build up for crawling, but I was thinking of snagging a scale truck as well for my kids to mess around with, and was thinking about other uses for it...(yeah...I will end up using it more them....but if I am lucky enough, they will get the bug like I did, and then we will have an excuse to get more!) |

We've had scale comps before as part of our regular program, but because of space and time limitations on the indoor course it's tough to squeeze them in. Personally I think it's just as much fun to have scale fun runs outdoors where you can challenge your buddy to "make it up/over this!". No points, no penalties, no time limits, just bragging rights and fun.

That does sound like fun, and probably 95% of what I will be doing with a Scaler anyway. I was just double checking the "local field" before I made a kit purchase. If you guys in the area did a lot of Class 2 Scale comps, for example, it would be smart of me to build something in that class to take advantage of that fact! Wish I had managed to hang on to my Tamiya Pajero from 15 years ago or so... I'd already be all set to hit the trails! |

The PJ is a nice little rig, but the newer scale trucks will walk all over it as far as handling and offroad abilities. I'm still impressed with what a well set-up trail rig can do. Super and I regularly push ours to the limit during summer fun runs .

The fun run is what I loved using the scale truck for, as well. I'm kind of an idiot with the controls anyway, so taking the competition aspect out of it made it work for me!

| Re: Scale comps? X2 that for me, Mr. Nate . Maybe I'll just buy the Trailfinder II, then I'll have a hard body scaler too!
