Default Axial trans

Do you think that the transmision out of an axial ax10 would hold up to x-factor axles and revo drive shafts, with 40 series moabs?

Thanks Spinner.

No reason why it shouldn't. As long as you have a strong enough motor and a light enough rig then it should work fine. What kind of 40 series are you running the 40 series Moab or the 40 series Moab XL? the reason I ask is because it might be easier on the motor and drive train if your running the 40 series XL because it has less rotational mass. But yeah an Axial AX10 transmission should work fine I have one in my MAXX rig and it holds up well, and if you wanna run dual motors its easy to fab up a motor mount just use the stock one as a template.

P.S. I'm up north in Edmonton!

Cool thanks for the info, you think that the novak goat system would be enough power for a super rig? Or any other suggestions.

Thanks Spinner

I think you will break the outputs first and then strip the gears

How do the internals stack up against a VXL pede tranny? I'm running the steel internal pede with my x-factor super and question it's strength.

Kyosho Twin tranny

For the Axial trans I think if you got the aluminum gears, And custom 6mm outputs you would be good to go
LIke so

BLACK 14r

I see no way it will hold up to the size of a super. I ran one in my E-Maxx comp rig and my rear tires got wedged and the output snapped instantly. I was running a racing motor, I think it was a Johnson 550, on a GD-600. I would say either run a Twin Trans, or an E-Maxx trans.

The ax10 tranny is a nice unit. It should hold up and they now offer a slipper for it if one has any doubts.

If you want to run revo shafts with it you will have to do one of a couple options to make them fit in addition to drilling holes into the outputs. Due to the diameter of the revo shafts you will incounter clearance issues with the spur gear so you will either have to run an extension (RC4WD $9) or run a smaller spur (not sure on the size).

Check out Raptormans 14r build he is using a ax10 tranny with revo shafts.

yes the AX10 tranny is nice. but since I have stripped the tranny gears in my 2.2(no slipper) I think you will need to upgrade to aluminum gears and bigger outputs shafts for a super, most definitely if you drill the stock outputs they will break. I think Raptorman should be stripping gears soon

Shhhh, don't say that so loud. I've been doing allot better with stripping gears lately. You tryin to jinx me or something?

I'm thinking about trying that slipper set up on my 14r,not sure yet. I've only stripped one spur so far. Tranny still seems tight. I know the aluminum outputs wouldn't have held for 5 minutes though.

I'm still going strong in my 2.2 with the stock spur. My 14r though,I stripped a 81t Kimbrough on course 2 Saturday. Luckily Andrew had a Traxass spur that was 81t as well. The traxass spur didn't want to line up that good, had to force it a bit. I know I won't be buying a Traxass spur for it now. Might order up a few Robinson gears and see how they fair.

I didn't realise they made metal gears for the AX10 tranny yet.And I'd like to see a production of bigger outputs, hint hint
