Default XTM question

I have been reading here about this crawler which I will get as soon as my LHS has more in stock.

My question is it looks like alot of people are using 2 esc's but I have a brand new novak superduty. What are the advantages of having 2 seperate esc motor combos vs 1 esc for both motors?

I will be using the DX6i radio if that will help explain the options to me.

thanks

The advantage is that you have independent throttle control for both axles

As an example

Your left stick drives your front axle
Your right stick drives your rear axle

Now you can apply just power to the front or the rear, or varying levels of power to either while moving.

Instead of having to use a switch for your dig you just give a little more throttle to that stick.

Advantages are your dig is amazing and you get no clodstall
Disadvantages are that its more controls to worry about and at first it can be a challenge to match your throttle on the sticks.

what will happen if you do not match the throttle sticks? will it cause damage to either esc, motor or tranny or is it just harder on the batts when you are pulling a motor?

If you move 1 stick and not the other then, depending on your drag break, you will either sit in place and spin your tires on the one axle, or move forward dragging the un-powered axle

Default use channel mixing on the stick radio *****

i have a modded dx6i - left gimbal modded. flip a switch mixed throttle front and rear. flip it off - independent thottle/dig. any 3d plane guy can set this up for you in minutes.

im running a 2.4 futaba 6ch there is a couple of different choices for channel mixing..i am currently using a mix called flaper-on..a combo used for delta wing airplanes...it works awesome!!
instead of using it for up/down...left/right it works like this
up..both equal reverse
down..both equal forward
left..front motor forward/rear motor reverse
right..front motor reverse/rear motor forward
