I took the gearbox on my XTM X-Crawler axle apart today to look at maybe clocking the axles, and inspecting the gears. I didnt get it totaly apart due to not pressing out the pin in the axle shaft, but the gears look like solid steel gears in the gearboxes. Are the new gears you can get on the link below new, 1pc gears? Which gear is it that is the issue? The gears in mine looked like they were all 1pc, i didnt clean all the grease off but they look beefy. Did they put upgraded gears in some of the newer kits? I have a yellow truck on the box, and i just picked this up a couple months ago. globalservices.globalhobby.com |

You can still take the gears out without having to remove the axle pin. You should check it so that feel more secure, I have the yellow box and mine were pressed,so I called and got replacement gears for the axles. ![]() |

is it all of the gears or just one gear? If its one, which one? The only one i can think it may be is the one that has the big, and little gear together, but it didnt look like it had a seam in it to me.

All the gears are the same. When you call for replacement they will send you all of them. ![]() |

do the gears need to be welded to the shafts that go through them? i was expecting a 2 piece gear from how they were described in some posts.

Little gear pressed into the big gear on ALL of them. Newer ones R just a tighter tollerence. Little Gear should need to B welded to the big gear, (Good Deep Weld), ground flat and Hole cleared for the shaft. This will just about "Bullet-Proof" the drivetrain except for the axle shafts. If the gears slip, the driveshafts will snap as well. It was a batch/botched job, they both had been over heated, making them brittle and subject to problems. |

Awesome, thanks for that. That is the only place i can think of where they would be pressed. I was gonna sell this but i think i will build it and set it up. I'll get them yanked out and weld them up, thank you.
