Default X factor help

Trying something different, building an X factor. Looking for suggestions on wheel base, any mods that can be done to make the axels more durable, or any other helpful X factor info.

Agreed, 17" wheelbase will work great.

Other than that, make sure to use red loctite on the grub screws for the couplers holding the diffs to the axle shafts. Red may seem excessive but I've found the grub screws still break loose. Build some custom servo mounts b/c the stock ones are junk and kill your clearance. Use BFT pinions or savage pinions and you can mount revo shafts easily or just drill the stock ones. Whichever pinion you go with make sure to SHIM YOUR DIFFS!!!

There's plenty of info on xfactor axles so don't be afraid to search Good luck.

This is my first shaft so I'm starting from scratch. X-factor axles looked like a good start for axles. Which is the best way to go for the trans, I've got txt & e-maxx. I also have a set of 4 to 1 reductions and am thinking of trying 2 motors & maybe cut kongs for tires.

Either tranny will work great. Both are tough enough for the job. The only real reason to use a emaxx tranny is if you want to utilize it's shift on the fly 2speed....that and maybe different mounting options with the 2 different tranny's. You can lock out the emaxx in either first or second so that may also give you more gearing options but then again the same thing can be done with spur/pinion changes. Also there is some slop in the emaxx tranny if you don't lock it out.

My xfactor used alot of the same stuff you're talking about. Go to my profile and search my posts. You should come across some helpful stuff.

I used a Pede Trans, and I am very happy with it. However, if you want to also use a GD600, I would recommend either the Emaxx or TXT Trans.
