savage shockt will look very tiny on this big rig
Its Huge!!!
Very cool though. But i think Losi LST shocks will look much more scale and holds the weight of the thing much better i think.
but that's just my opinion.
It is a nice build so far i like it !!

Default looks good

That chassis looks SWEET. I would stick with savage shocks. They have a much longer stroke and you will ba able to find better spring choices for them. I have an LST and the shocks are really quite stiff, made to support a nearly 15 lb. nitro rig. I am going with savages on my Xfactor. IF you don't have the axles yet check out the xfactors, they are 14" hex to hex. I saw a set on the bay yesterday for $100. Looks great so far, I'll keep my eyes on this one.

The wheelbase is going to be 22". I want it to have a real low and mean look to it. No body panels or any other unimportant crap. The frame is going to be painted in a sandstone color. This truck is going to get used and abused.

I got most of the rear axle machined. Still a ton of work to do, but here are some updated pictures.

Got some more work done today. Hopefully I will have it fully mocked up this week and then break it down and finish/paint everything.

I got the truck all finished last week. The first test run went well except for the fact that the hexes on the wheels were crap. Way too much torque and weight for them to handle. I am working on buying a set of aluminum wheels. The servo was also crap, but I already knew that and a new one is on the way.
The second run was at my grandparents house and had some fun driving across a pond. Here are some pics..........

I will post more pictures again when I get the wheels/servo and some other details worked out...........Aaron

How do they work, also? Do they run bottomed out and you only get droop. Or did you put an internal spring in there?

That chassis looks a lil familiar too

Ok here is the deal on the shocks. I found out if you get enough oil in them and the shock is sealed well that they will be hard to compress. They act like a real shock would. Only 4 of the 8 shocks I had would actually hold the pressure. The other ones just blew out the shock bodies at the casting lines.
The one other problem I had was that the shock slowly leaked out oil where the shaft goes into the body(LOL). I guess if you would invert the shock so that the main body was at the bottom it would not leak.
I just used 4 little springs and put them inside the shock to keep them from bottoming out.
They do work pretty well. I wanted to keep the cg low on the truck and still make it look good.

Are these Twin-Force-rims? And what tires?

Thank you for the answer,
Martin
