Tamiya CR01 Crawler

on Tamiyausa.com it says the MSRP is $515. Couldn't you just make a more capable crawler for less than that (provided you already own the servo's and receivers and what not)?

We at TamiyaUSA are not here to compete with our Distributors or retailers. The only reason we even offer online sales is that fact not everyone has a LHS to buy from and not every LHS will carry every product of ours. We carry more sku's than any other R/C or plastic model company and no one could carry it all.

We sell it all at MSRP (That is us, we are the manufacturer and create that price) LHS will sell it for street price, from time to time we will have sale items that are lower than MSRP.

Hope that clears things up...

...the difference will be included electronics RX /TX and batteries etc...

...An hour and i can be at Nihonbashi Mokei :D

Very good price, shame my previous dealings with Nihonbashi Mokei have been unpleasant.

I'm just curious, How do you counter or minimize torque twist in the CR01 shocks? On my Axial, I just put some preload spacer on the driver-side rear shock and it really help to minimize torque twist to almost zero... I also notice that the CR01 shocks is not a conventional type and there could be no torque twist at all. But I did notice something that looks like torque twisting in the promo vid but again I could be wrong. ;-)

Well first off it really doesn't matter if you already own your own receivers/servos because the CR01 doesn't include those anyway. Secondly, sure you could easily buy an Axial and have something that is likely much more capable than the CR01, but that isn't the point. The CR01 is going to draw on customers who want something a little more scale looking and different than what the current trends are. (such as the planetary tranny, and suspension setup) My point is that this crawler isn't aimed toward the hard core rock crawling competition guys.

Any word or speculation on the CR-01 axles using TLT or being compatible with TLT components, ie, CVD's and R&P's?
Only speculating, but my guess would be maybe. The pumpkin shape does look like the TLT case, but it could have High Lift guts inside. If that is the case, then the RP might work, but the TLT axles might be too short. Too bad we don't have a wheels off pic so we can measure.

Nice, thanks Larrio! "thumbsup"
Like the Axial Scorp, does Tamiya have any plans on offering the components seperate, ie, an axle set or the trans assembly?

Axle diffs look like High Lift parts. Pinion is drilled too...
