New OCM 2.2 Crawler Review

Nice Work!

Nice review and great pics! My only concern as others have stated is the width of those axles. Can you see any way of shaving those down a bit? Great job though!

Mark

If the complete kit is this hard to get, how bad will the parts be when the inevitable breakage happens?

i just don't think they expected this big of a demand so fast, plus they are in the middle of some sort of trade off with the whole ocm/newage/berg thing. just bad timing i hope!

I'm hoping that is all it is right along with you;-). I'm also hoping just the axles will be priced reasonably.

My backorder was filled on 05/13 .....hopefully shipped same day...should arrive via FedEx on 05/15

Paid Back Order price $299.99 "thumbsup"

Sahweet!! Good for u anyway. I've had a backorder setup for quite a while now. I hope I'm one of the people who will get an email.

Glad to hear that Fishy!

It is tough, knowing how good amain is at doing business when you guys are not familiar with them. I had no doubt. They have build their business on customer service.

They didn't become the biggest online RC vendor in the country by accident "thumbsup"

Mine and Rizzo's are part of the 10 as well...

They shipped on the 16th and will not arrive until the 27th!

I've gotten stuff from China faster, hahahaha

yep mine is in too! sweet!! $299! woohoo will be here tomorrow! marathon build for sunday comp

Good to hear!

Marathon build? You will be surprised how fast it goes together... Prebuilt axles, shocks and links. In stock form, you will be putting electronics in the first 30 minutes.

Yep! Time spent on traditional builds lies mostly in getting the right parts together, and then building the transmission and axles. The axles are pre-built in this kit, and there is no outside tranny...............so the whole build is building links to attach the chassis to the axles. It is almost too simple!!!"thumbsup"

Yeah i figured it would be pretty easy, but to make it more difficult i am going to build a whole new tuber for the axles.

Ok. I just got off the phone with AMain and here is the story.

They only received 14 Berg 2.2's in stock from the latest shipment. Of those, all have been sold to those that preordered (they held them for you if you backordered), and fortunately I was part of that 14. Also, they stated that there are 16 other preorders behind mine that will have to wait until the next shipment(s). Anyone who has not preordered, will have to wait for those 16 people to get theirs first from the next shipment.

Sure glad I preordered when I did. They honored the $299 backorder price and did not charge the going rate of $349.99 as priced today.

Just thought some of you might care.
