Looks great except for the battery. I say for racing a 6 cell stick pack"thumbsup" Every one probably has them and it wouldnt be fair to have a few guys running 6 cells against Chips 8!(you know he will do it)

O and after playing with this thing its clear that I'm going to need another one couse I really want to race it against other stock slashs BUT man this thing is SCREEMING to be MODDED:lol::lol: (60,70mph whould be a kick in the a$$)"thumbsup"

Nice ruling, but no lipo's?? Stick packs will be a thing of the past soon! Since ROAR leaglized lipos for competitions, battery companies are headed in that direction. I think Lipo's could be a good mod for this class!"thumbsup"

I'm just going on an ordering two of them at the same time because I alredy bought a brushless system to run with LiPo in one of them, but I want to race with the other guys as well. Hell once some more people start getting into the drivetrains of these things maybe we could have some open class races on my home track in alexandria.

well i just spent $112.00 on 2 8 cell packs friday to run in these things

stick paks suck, these aint scale crawlers, they are for hauling ass, if the speed control will run em, then thats what we oughta run thats what bbyrd had made up for several weeks now, so thats what i bought

hell you dont have to run 8 cell if you aint got one ;-)

I think there should be a 7 cell max IMO unless you boys wanna have a pocket book race.;-) The reason I say this is because not eveyone can afford a 90.00 or 100.00 dollar 8 cell pack.

I priced a 4000mah Elite 7 cell pack from CheapBatteryPacks.com and it was 40 plus shipping. 8 cell would be about 7-8 more. The price for the packs isnt the issue with me, its having to replace burnt up motors and ESCs all the time. The XL5 is only rated for 7 cells.

I stand corrected"thumbsup" I still wander how the ESC will hold up to the 8 cells. But the bright side is that I belive that TRAXXAS offers a lifetime warrenty on the ESCs:lol:

Also, what about the tires? Will we have to tun the stock tires once they have to be replaced or can they be any off the shelf 2.2?

Stock tires. Aftermarket wheels, okay.

Chip mentions in the other thread that the stock ESC has had some problems with the 8 cell. I say we leave the 8 cell max. I'm going to run 7 cell's and it's not like were racing for anything, just shits and grins.

I say run what the ESC will allow. Keeping things as the rules state keeps it even. Your choice to run 7 or 8 cell. Just remember, you can run up to the 23t pinion too. I think thats the highest you can go.

can we install the harden steel yokes and hd shafts Couse mine are starting to twist and don't think it will be long before that snap....
