Kaetwo's Tekin FX-R Review...

And then plug it into the battery port on the reciever?

Plug the BEC into the Battery slot. Plug the FX-R (with the cut red wire servo extension) into the Throttle slot or the #2 slot, which ever way your receiver is labeled.

Perfect timing! I'm working on a Scorpion based 2.2 Hustler right now (you think the stock Scorpion is tight on space?!) I just read about this speedo in Driver, and after reading your review, the Tekin FXR will find a home in my double deuce. Thanks "thumbsup"

The beefed BEC looks good, but does not completely eliminate the need for a seperate BEC in all situations. Not sure it is fully justified unless it eliminates the seperate bec for most people. Since the bec is working harder than the motor drive circuits it may make more sense to keep it seperate and replaceable.

What battery and motor plugs if we did offer a ready version with no soldering required?

Dean's plug for sure is what I would like to see

We are updating the web, packages and manuals to reflect a new spec.

"May be used with 3s lipo when using 35turn or higher motors for rock crawling."

We will back you and all the crawler users.

2 of our team crawler drivers should be testing the FxR with beefed BEC this week. We will see how it works.

Wondering what the new BEC rating will be and when these will be hitting the shelves? Looking to install one in my 2.2 Hustler, but I'll wait if the updated version is on its way.

aaHHHH! I need a new esc and waiting on this one is killing me, how soon, how soon. I like deans plugs on the battery lead and i just changed to the brushless style 4mm to the motor I like to switch out my M.Max to my brushed sometimes and it makes it really convienent

The beefed bec has not proven to be justified yet.. if ever. I should be less public on the development stuff. We usually do this in our private team driver forum. There are no plans currently to have a new version out anytime soon, but we are listening and testing.

If you want Deans you might as well have the posts and suffer thru the sodlering. RTR is more like a cheap tamiya plug that most cut off anyway.

i have a quick question when setting up the fx-r when two lights are on when going through the mode what does that mean. what i am trying to say is when i push the mode button then incr. for drag and go through it as i go higher two lights light up what is that?

If I'm understanding you correctly, the two lights are the next step up.

So, hit the button once and only the first light comes on, that is indicating the first step. Then hit the increase button and the first and second lights come on, that's the second step. Hit the increase button again and only the second light comes on is the third step. Hit the increase button again and the second and third lights come on, that's the forth step.

I think I got that right.

This is how Tekin shows 11 steps with only 6 light spots.

thanks man, i will give it a try and see what it does. Also can this speed control hold a 9.9 volt battery?

Tekin says it's safe with 11.1 volts as long as you use a 35 turn, or higher motor. And from my experience, it's true. :D

I'll second that!

I have 4 of these both FX-R and B1-R's running 3C Lipo's with 45x1 and have had zero problems.

"thumbsup"

Well, finally got my FXR Pro mounted in my slingshot chassis. Running 2s or 3s with a 7T HH Cobalt. I only ran it for about 5 min but seems great so far. I was really impressed at how easy and intuitive the esc setup is, and the small size is a big plus. "thumbsup"

I've ran a 3s lipo with a 7t cobalt and a castle BEC with no problems. I've also started running 2 35t motors, and a 3s lipo. It was getting pretty warm, then I added a bec and its great now"thumbsup"

I just finished reading through this thread and I am unclear if the FXR-Pro can handle the 7T Cobalt from Holmes Hobbies? With 2s or 3s lipo? Any thoughts Tekin or JRH?

i asked the same question before and the reg fx-r, doesnt have to be the "pro" can handle the 7t puller. Jhon says its basicly the same turn as a 27T. It works great. Throw a 8t w/11.1v and your good to go"thumbsup"

With a single servo setup, like yours, an external BEC is not required.
And since you are running a 2 cell lipo, that will help keep temps down on the FX-R's internal BEC.

hi all

i just buy the tekin crawler combo esc+55t motor

can i use standard tamiya plug for the battery or did i must use dean plugs ?
and is it necessary to put the "condensator" with the battery wire or is it an "option" you put on ?

thx in advance for your help
