damn! i gotta get me one of these...(vids)

interesting, like a longboard but with castor wheels where the trucks bolt on. Looks pretty cool, but I don't think anything is better than a well setup longboard skateboard."thumbsup"

yeah the center wheels caster, (the ones UNDER the board)
the outside wheels dont. i wonder how the wear on the outer wheels is?

That look as sketchy as hell. I don't think I would be to keen on going down a rode on one of those. They do look damn cool though.

My roommate has one. He got it at a garage sale for $5.
They are much harder to learn than you'd think. I am a very good snowboarder and an intermediate longboarder and it was very hard to get the feel of the slides.

The only way to explain it is that the slides felt very nonlinear, meaning it seems like there was an on-off switch for grip when sliding.
on a snowboard the slide can be controlled by how much pressure you put on the edge and it is a very controlled move.
The freeboard was not consistent with the pressure put on the edge.
The only thing I can think of is that I need more speed to make it feel like a snowboard.

That's pretty cool. Hope the cops don't see their vids, that'd be funny as hell though. Going to court for a speeding ticket on a skateboard :ror:

 I got clocked doing 38 in a 30 when I was in High School. :ror:

I've learned my lesson skateboarding on big hills. Sitting in the ER for hours while they pick gravel out of the muscles in my hands, litterally, is not fun at all. I was going so fast that when I wrecked the skin on my hands burned, blistered, and tore completely off instantly. You could see the meat on both of my hands, it sucked.

they look pretty cool but theres three major differences between the slopes and streets, cars, stop signs, and the fact that pavement has a higher "bench grinder effect" than snow. still doesn't mean i don't wanna try one "thumbsup"

Believe me man, I feel your pain. Not quite hand pain, but I did go blind for half an hour after a bad fall once. Here's a little pic shortly after I regained clear vision.

I looked like an alien the next day.

i used to be heavily into street skating and back in the day we used to do that on regular boards with hard tires.power sliding. maybe not as fluid as the ones on that video but still kind of the same. the one thing i feared was the death wobble.

The death wobble is what caused me to wreck. It sucks because you know it's coming and there's nothing you can do about it.

Only thing that helped with the wobble was run tight trucks. And who does that? Tight enough so you don't get wheel bite and roll with it! Though moving your front foot forward as you can kinda helped a little. Still scary shit though. :ror:

FreeBoards a crap! same goes with all those other kooky idea of boards like the flowboards and 2 wheel boards.

want to have tons of fun, get a lowered speedboard and some drifty wheels, learn standup slides and drifts and have fun dowhnill skateboarding is where its at.

as for the roadrash thing, would you go snowboarding without a jacket and pants? try falling on packed snow going just as fast, youll still be getting rash. You always need to wear protective gear thats apropriate for the situation, allways wear a helmet and pads.
