OFNA tires
Losi
HPI
Ofna
Proline road rage

it's been a challenge finding Cool aggressive street tires that are not to sticky like the Proline Road rage which are awesome for grip and also fit cool looking rims
Need something to slide a bit on street

the action is cool my 1:1 wheeler/crawler gives a flavor of drift if I hit the gas at the right time and turning at 40mph
The suspension is Amazing, on the rocks it's soft and flexy

Well at least now I know I'm not the only one who gets their 'Yota sideways. My friends think I'm crazy because I actually can do a donut (Neither of them, one with an M3, one in a Corvette could get one done in a wet parking lot)

Thats pretty cool. I've had the same thoughts concerning my next project. If I end up not selling all my Maxx parts I may build one.

My thoughts:

Front engine, rwd, nitro powered. Try to keep the weight distribution as close to real life as possible (50/50 or 60/40). Scratch build nearly every chassis part, down to the A arms (thinking tubular here).

What I'd really like to see is someone make a TRUE 1/10th scale replica. I'm talking weight, power, dimensions, etc etc. That would be pretty damn interesting to see IMO...

Thanks and good luck on that Duuuude.

Changed my frame rail design

1/4 6061 Square with round inside tube

Always double check measurements, I bent and cut the rails thinking the wheel base was 21 but it's actually 20.5" so some help with Trigonometry the rails where bent down ward to reduce the .5" which turned out to lower the tranny to the bottom :-P

Chassis Pan next:
Carbon fiber pan would be nice and $$$ so I went with Aluminum T6 2.5 mm 6" x 27"

Finished cutting out the bottom main chassis 2.5 mm thick 6061 27 x 7
Made some Shock towers, might need to go taller to lower the chassis though
also redo the shocks with 50wt and reduce travel and Integy hard springs

Still need to bend the Aluminum sides up a little for extra strength
Need a Foam bumper. some ABS plastic,

Going to Design some Anti sway bars
Bought some 1/8 scale steering, will go in next

Still looking for Wheels

YEa I cant wait too !:-P

I cut out a steering brace out of a fiberglass sheet , then gave it the fiber look with some vinyl I had

Mounted in the 1/8 scale steering, it aligns perfectly

Have Feigao XL 2383 KV brushless coming in the mail
Going to need to take a look in the tranny, my instincts tel me this old emaxx tranny does not stand a chance. Confirmed that with some forum searching, idler gear upgrade seems to be popular and a G maxx single speed conversion. So I'll see what I can remove and swap in along with locking into 2nd gear.
Sure would like a different tranny alltogether though.

Can you get a photo of the droop that you get with that suspension setup? It's going to be very important if your wanting to do rally type stuff with it.

Super cool"thumbsup" that thing looks so clean, (so did the driftin' subaru!) and with a fiago motor and the right gearing it'll scoot really good. How fast are you hoping for?8)"thumbsup"

BTW what batteries are you going to use.:?:

Hey Thanks Scoootr :)
I will try more detail pics "thumbsup"

Yea i was just reading that over at one of the many sites
that a little droop is needed. Right now there is no droop because I wanted stiff springs for Drifting on my street and jumping at local BMX park. Once it drives I'm sure I will be tunning the Shocks.
I'm going to build my own Sway bars, see how it does. I'm thinking 3/4-1" ground clearance should be ok with street and jumping :?:

What's the body from?
Are you looking for one ?
I went to a race and a guy threw it away so I grabbed it , it costs about $160. The body is a Honda sedan , not sure where it came from but I found one similar at oops sorry cant find the site now but here is some others FG-modelsport bigboystoys or here innovativehobby for more variety.
I have been on a huge slew of Forums and store sites:
largescaleforums
rctech.net
mcdrc 1/5 buggy rally onroad
rams club
bannedrc emaxx stuff
monster.traxxas.com
rcgroups.com

Right Awn Thank you "thumbsup" I do like a clean look
As for speeds even though I would like 50 I am more interested in Punching the throttle while it already going 25 and having the tires light up and go into a full crazy drift on the street
Battery wise could be two 2s lipo at 11.1volt 4500mah each wired in series.

Tires sure are pricey:-( found some on ebay but wide offset and it would have lookied like a chollo car LOL
