Some of you might have seen the mog body I have been messing around with in the body / paint section. well I have rounded up some more stuff for it so I am starting a build thread for it here. The original idea was to stretch the mog body a bit to fit a spare Diaz chassis I had laying around. Making it a unimog 416 instead of a 406 :)... I know I know Mogs arent leaf spring rigs but whatever its just for fun. and I might swap it out with a home made chassis later. Anyways on to some pics.

I started out hacking off the bed of the mog body and ataching a styrene drop bed

Here is the diaz chassis I had from another build

The tranny hangs down a bit to much so I made a skid for it. its a reversed r2 dig for 2wd - 4wd operation.

Narrowed and reduced imex g-hawgs (now MEX G-hawgs) :) I had them forever but whoever narrowed them did a pretty poor job I just reduced them to 1.9

Next Ill mock it up as a roller .. Im working on some rear fenders and finishing up the bed so I can atart to paint it. Im painting the whole thing on the outside but im still not sure as to the best paint to use. Im wondering if lexan paint will work well on the styrene bed. .. I wanted to paint it a sandy color but the can I got of it is tamiya paint for plastics not lexan so I dont think I can use it on the cab .. anyone have experience with the best paints to use in this situation?

That is sweet looking! Love the paint job. Are you gonna "weather" it all or just drive it and have it get weathered naturally?

As others have said, the wheel and tire combo on this rig just look phenomenal. I never would have thought to do that, but it really adds a nice scale look.

You've really done a fantastic job! This is one of those rigs that really inspires people to do something different and get into the hobby. Even the paint was unexpected and really sets off the truck.

Keep up the great work!! "thumbsup"

update .. painted the electronics / body mount tray as well as painted and mounted the rear fenders and front inner fender wells. added a gas tank and a set or air tanks under the bed. More to come
