ok, i finally broke down and got one of these 7t cobalts which shoudl be the bee's knees.

so far I'm un impressed.

I am getting finer crawling, top end, and feels like power out of one of your 45t handwounds.

I run both the motors on 3s lipos.
the 45 is on a sidewinder
the 7 is on a mamba max

lipo for the 45t is a 1350 15c 20c burst el cheapo chinese
lipo for the 7t is a 2200 15c/20c burst integy branded cheapo chinese

do I need to feed the 7t even more power?

both are on axial transmissions with vf digs
45t is on WK axles
7t is on poulson's

gearing on both is roughly 14 or 15p 87s

Simple question really.

I have 2 OG Revolvers"thumbsup" fed by Quark ProCar 33a ESC's. I LOVE the dual esc setup, especially with the brushless outrunners. The drag brake is MUCH better than brushed motors and the OG/Quark combo is smooth as butter.

My problem is the Quarks, I make TONS of changes to my setup on my comp 2.2 rig depending on the type of rock, the course designer, the location, the tires (for drag brake settings) etc etc. Changing the settings on the quarks is like having a root canal, you always have to have your little book, pull the esc's to reach the buttons, etc. On top of this they are basically a dead company and i would like to switch to Castle.

Castle link is great and i have it on my laptop so i can have it with me, just plug it in, change the settings, and go. I have 2 sidewinders that i would run except the current rig im running has no space for them, its just not really an option at all, even with one mounted on the rear axle the other doesnt fit.

So all that blah blah blah:shock: the question is, will the Mamba 25s work as well (and be as smooth at low power) as the quarks on 11.1v with OG Revolvers in a dual esc setup? Im dying for the programability of my Castles!

Thanks in advance!

cool, thanks john. gonna start on the rig now.
are you expecting to have 35T anytime soon ?

End of the week or so

thanks for the reply. do you have the b1r and tmm in stock. also what bec do i need. and as far as the battery i do want to go lipo and would like to get an hour run time.

The tekin goods are on the way, probably end of week on them too.

The CC bec is my general recommendation.

The battery size will depend on how you drive. A 2200 lipo would be on the safe size.

The 7t is faster than a 35t by quite a bit. Make sure you aren't running retarded timing, be sure a brush isn't hanging, and that everything runs smooth.

My guess is that either something is up with the setup, or the battery can't keep up. The only way to check the battery is a data logger really- it could be falling in voltage under load from a bad cell (or cells).

Simple question really.

You will lose some low speed control, and it will be a bit more jerky on startup. You won't have to deal with reverse startups anymore however.

I was checking out Castle's website and it seems the Sidewinder Micro replaced the Mamba25. Same advice?

Yep. They changed the fets, but otherwise it is unchanged.

I have some m25s on the site for pretty cheap right now, 18% more off with my "ESC" coupon.

im getting an AX-10 with a brushless revolver motor. i need some batteries and charger as well as a radio.

what do you recommend?

Garrett

How do I get a tracking number for an order I placed on the 26th of January? I would like to locate the 4 switches I ordered. I figured they would not take over 8 days to get here. I was trying to PM you but you do not except PM's.

Thanks,
Tom

I placed an order on the 30th. I did see that you were delayed with school and such. I also emailed your sight with an order mistake on my part. The order has been prosseced but not completed according to your sight. I would like to add to the order the Castle link to the order to be shipped together. How would you like me to goa bout this. Order it from your sight and you can include it? Thanks John"thumbsup"

Hey john, I sent you an email. Hopefully you can help us out. If you didnt get it let me know.

I have been working through them, I am around the 30th on email I think. If you don't get a response in a day or two send again please.

I will recommend what I would run. A 1300 HH 3 cell lipo, or a 2200 PolyRC pack. For a charger I would use a hyperion 0606i or 0403i. Radio- probably a tq3 from fleabay.

Nevermind I received that switches today.

Good to hear they came in, hope you enjoy them!

The best would be to pick one up separately, and I should catch the duplicate name. I will refund the shipping difference once it is packaged up. If I get to the order tonight I will hold it for a day so they can ship together.

Thank you John. You will be getting the order shortly"thumbsup"
Just another reminder, I don't need Express mail. If you could adjust that also. 1st Class is just fine. Kinda sneaky in the choices section of check out:neutral:

I was looking into you motors just because they are awesome. I have a GC-2 and dont think that a 7t puller motor will fit into my chassis. Do you know? Second question is the cobalt puller 500 I think that will fit as you as its smaller then a normal motor I believe. What the advantage to this motor? Is wheel speed that much more? How about torque. What esc would I need to use. I have a rooster crawler right now. Would I need to run lipo. Right now i have a 55t. Would i lose run time?

Thanks alot

I had modified it to show 1st class as default, I wonder if that changed when I reskinned the sight. Thanks for the heads up, I will check into it.

Just need to ask if the mamba micro pro has a reverse delay? like my mamba 25 has.

Both can be programmed with direct reverse with the Castle link.

I don't believe one will fit in the GC2, unless you moved the tranny mount forward and maybe file off some of the opening. You will have to ask someone else.

Speed of the 7t Puller is about like a 27t motor with no timing. The Cobalt 500 is smaller and about the same speed.

You don't need lipo, and if you use more throttle your runtime will go down. Most likely you will use lots of throttle.

The cobalt 500 is smaller and has the same speed then why dosent every one get them instead of the 7t? Can i use a rooster with it? If it smaller then a regular motor it will fit in my truck. But it uses more power then a 55 turn?

I just searched through your threads more in depth and found that you said there isnt really a difference between the cobalt 500 and a 540 integy 55 turn. So its not really worth for me to switch? Whats the advantage?
