tire spray

Did you see the Trinity ad in the March issue of RC Car Action?

They're marketing their Buggy Grip tire compound to the crawling scene now. Ad had that along with the Kreepy motors, Genius memory foams and shock oil.

All good I guess but Simple Green works for me, and it's much cheaper. Buggy Grip is 8 clams for 4.5 ounces!

I'd give that a try unless you already have the tire voodoo ;-)

Something you guys may want to know before you use this stuff, it will eat the foam up in the tires. It attacks the foam & starts to break it down. I used this stuff in off-road & you would have to replace the foam before the tires would wear out. So beware when you spray or dabb it on if you have the vent holes in your tires.

Over time I have come to a realization that water and soap are the best things that you can do to your tires if you want to clean them, or prep them for a comp.

Why would you want stuff on your tires that attracts dirt?

I wash mine with soap and water first, and then give them a spray with the Simple Green. Once it's dry, it leaves the tire compound soft and tacky but not sticky...like a rubber rejuvinator.

I agree on the tire juice...once you're in any dirt or even the sand on rocks, they're coated.

A question i have is why do you want more traction on a clean & weathered rock than you already have? Sometimes you have to much grip on the outcrop or the off camber turn, sometimes you may want a little slip. All that traction compound does is soften a allready soft compound. If you want to try something , get a little diesel fuel & dabb it on about 30 mins before you want to test & put them in a zip-lock bag until you run & see what happens.

Have you guys ever used Buggy Grip on a race tire?

When applied properly it doesn't attact anymore dirt than simple green.

yeah i used to use the buggy grip on my b3 when whe fisrt built our blue grove track and they never had that much dirt on them after the race and the track was dirty

I am now running the Trinity memory foam and like it a lot. It is a bit firmer than the proline/panther. Also their Intellect lipo batteries are fantastic!

Speaking of the price of tea in China! :-P:lol: J/K

I think Simple green is the cheapest way to not only clean your tires but also make them "sticky" again. I am sure that when done properly any product made to "soften" tires will work. BUT, Simple Green is just so dang cheap......

Another good way to soften tires just ALITTLE bit is Citrol. It is a citrus-based degreaser. It's bio-degradeable, non-toxic and smells good! It is perfect if you want to soften your comp tires just slightly more. I used it on a set of rock lizards I have and it made a huge difference. It doesnt last a real long time, maybe a day or so but it works. I have used ordinary spray trim adhesive also. It's a bit messy but it works really good. It does wear off too so your tire dont look like dirty balls. VHT makes a traction aditive also. I have tried it on 1:1 dirt racing tires but never on a crawler. The Citrol is a great cleaner for the rest of your rig too. Spray it on and rinse it off. The best part is that you can wash it down the sink and it is ok!

I used alittle Citrol on my white Rovers about a week after I got them and WOW it made them even better.

http://www.schaefferoil.com/specialty/266_citrol.html check it out!

Got the RC4WD Crazy crawlers to try out and I like everything about them except for the compound, not nearly soft enough. Gunna try the citrol until I get some simple green... Thanks Guys!!

Grass is also good for a preliminary tire scrub. "thumbsup"
