Whoa!!! That is cool.

Yeah, if you get some Rok Lox... you need portals too. I saw in one mag that they added portals to the axles.

Thanks for the info! I like that ur rebuilding it and adding even more detail, how much does this thing weigh!?

I havent hit a scale with it yet, when its all back together Ill throw it on the one at my LHS.

I thought about the portals but I have to switch the axles, the front T-60s use the same TLT steering blocks but the rear being straight would have to get 4-wheel steering to do it.

Could you tell me what the brake rotors are made from?

IMEX makes them, they were like 5$ at my LHS. They have 2 sizes, these are the bigger ones with the center hex gutted out. its just soft black plastic so a dremel worked fine.

Aw, didn't even think of that.

Engine work is insane! Love the spark plug wire holders"thumbsup" Where are you getting the steal braided "fuel" line from? The steal braided line I used on the Atomic Toy came from a member of tamiya club with some shock reservoirs I got from him and now I am out and need to get more.

Brakes came out awesome as well. As much as I am looking forward to the winter for some serious building I also cant wait for next season, I need to see this thing in person

Thanks Mike. Its gonna be even more fun next season with it getting a 3S and new esc

I get it from a LHS thats big into Static models. Detail Masters makes a bunch of different sizes

I used the .045 size

Wow. I just spent the last hour reading this thread. Absolutely amazing attention to detail. This is the kind of scaler I would love to build. great work.

Thank you.

Amazing detail work, but definitely needs scale tires! Keep it up!

Thanks, I agree. I got sidelined with the Bowtie 1.9 build Im doing so I havent gotten much done on the rebuild but Spooky's are calling my name once I get back into the rig again.

i know that scale comp rules dont allow rear steer:roll:, but the 1:1 that fred built has it.

As much as I would love to do the 4ws, and it would make adding portals easier, it would be tough to add it and not make it ugly with a servo hanging on the back axle.

Amazing build I just spent all morning reading through it and you did an ass kicking good job on the buggy...

Thank you.

Can't believe all the detail in this thing. Looks just like the real thing. I love the headlights. They came out awesome! From the first post I knew this was gonna be sweet!!!!

wicked, wicked, work, looks so much better when its home built and not bolt on. My favorites are the brake lines, radiator, interior (especially), quality welds and bending, electrical work, and the motor work. I love how your so commited to keeping it scale to the original, without compromise!

If you need braided line, I'll give you a secret, yes its a secret but I'll let you do it first (no one has tried this yet that I can see)......get some spider wire in the fishing dept. It is braided fishing line that you could get in different size "tests". so a 20lb test could be your winch line, 30lb could be your radiator lines, etc. It also comes in different colors too.

If that spider wire idea helps you out, show us some pics. Also pics of full flex and the rear lights at night. Any rock lights planned?

Oh, my other super stealthy secret is that your hydraulic steering could be made from an RC excavator's hydro cylinder. There are atleast a dozen different sizes and configurations. Should be able to use the hydro pump, reservoir too. I think they would be similiar in size since there are several different scales in the construction RC's

Well spring is here and the Fun Buggy finally got its powder coating ........ not to many pics but thought I'd post some of the re-assembly.

I had a local guy do the powder coating for me and it came out great. "thumbsup"
