Well I've always been too anxious about building my rigs to post build threads but this time I thought it might be kinda fun so here ya go"thumbsup"
MRCMiniSlash002.jpg

Pile of Parts and Donor Rig. I'm still unsure on some things what I'm going to do with it but I figure I'll know more once I start to get things together.

That pile of parts will never work out for ya:shock: the rig will be much better in stock form, I might be able to get them to work.... you should just send it over to me"thumbsup"

Looks interesting. I see the Mongoose . I really want one but I can't make up my mind if I want to go water proof with a nice brushed build or go brushless. humm.. Keep us up dated on the build.

You know I was thinking that the torque twisting high COG stocker would be the way to go. On second thought I guess I'll give this stuff a try since it's just been laying around haha :ror:

I'll keep you updated on the Mongoose. I also have a Mamba 25 and Reedy Stump Puller to try out but the Mongoose will go in first and I'm guessing from what others have said it probably won't come out.

Well got a little more done

MRCMiniSlash005.jpg

Got the Hot Racing Aluminum Lockers put together and I have to say these things are pretty sweet"thumbsup"

MRCMiniSlash006.jpg

CV's and Aluminum knuckles shrink wrapped the CV to help hold the pin in also installed the wide hexes.

Axles all put back together and ready to go. I'm going to make my own steering linkage but that will be a little later down the road.

Got some more done but my Personal Laptop took a crap  and now it's off to Dell for a couple weeks so now I'm using my work Laptop and I lost a lot of my build pics so anyways I got it almost done so flash forward!

DNA Thrashers with Losi Bashers I just had the Bashers laying around from a scale build so I decided to use them for now. I will get the new 1.9 Rovers when they come out but I think these will work for now.

Here it is all together. It still has the stock shocks because I'm not sure which ones to go with yet.

MRCBuild002.jpg

I'm going to try these Fusion Packs out. I've never used any of their packs before but it seemed perfect for this build.

MRCBuild009.jpg

I made Lexan plates that I zip tied to the upper links both front and rear. Here is the front with the battery mounted with Velcro. You can also see the Darksoul Inboard Shock Mount Kit that I used for the body mounts.

And here are a couple pics of the rear with the ESC and the Spektrum Micro Receiver. I actually planned on putting the ESC on the front links and the battery on the rear but couldn't figure out a good way to mount it without the wires rubbing the gears. Anyways I plan on taking it out for it's maiden voyage tomorrow and get some testing in.

looks good, you'll love the mongoose. Try the expo profile when the course gets technical.

Well after getting it together and messing with the shocks and shock positions more I decided to just bite the bullet and get the Losi Aluminum Shocks so a short trip to my LHS and they're in my hand. Anyways I always put springs under the pistons on my 2.2 rigs to keep the suspension from unloading so I decided to try it out on the MRC.

MRC013.jpg

Here's the springs I stole them out of ball point pens. I cut them in half and they were pretty close to the length I wanted so I'll try them out here first.

MRC014.jpg

Here is the spring under the piston.

MRC015.jpg

The one on top is right out of the box and the one on bottom is assembled with the spring and 50 weight oil.

And here they are back on the truck. I'm taking it to my parents house today and they have some rock walls I'll test it on. I'll try and get some pics of it on the rocks.

Looks good man, I'm interested in what you think with the internal springs and 50 weight oil. Running the same shocks with 25 weight myself with limiters other then the rear left, it has 50 weight for helping twist.

Here are a few pics from messing around today. It has an old beat up TLT body on it until I can get it's new one painted up.

Overall I was blown away by how much of an improvement it was over stock. It still has some tweaking that needs to be done like more weight in the wheels maybe lighter shock oil etc. The Bashers on the other hand I was way less than impressed with! I'm definetly going to have to figure something else out before the 1.9 Rovers get here. On another note the shocks are already leaking after only an hour of runtime which is exactly the reason I was debating wether or not to get them oh well I'll make them work somehow.

Looks good man! Yeah just keep playing with the weight. Bashers work awesome in some situations but in most they don't. My shocks leaked like a SOB too. Contact Rich and he'll send ya a rebuild kit. I found using two of the thin lil gaskets and cranking em down pretty tight stopped the leaking. Good luck and have fun with it.

I used teflon tape on the threads. Both lower and upper. And haven't had any leaking yet. And they have been like this for over six months.

Cool I'll shoot Rich a PM and see what he has to say. I'll try the teflon tape till then. On another note if anyone is on the fence about getting the Mongoose you better get off! This thing is awesome! Plenty of torque and tons of wheelspeed"thumbsup"
