I think this will be important:

Alright, it's time to get with it.

She's a little wide for a scaler, so on goes the RPM Rear Nitro Stampede Arms. These reduce the overall width by 1", which should make this truck 11" wide. Tough to get through gates, but it'll have to do for now!

I had to shave the ends of the arms a bit to fit inside the new Traxxas carriers, and I shaved the carriers themselves to allow more droop.

OH boy!

Narrowed the driveshafts, steering tierods and upper links. Using Traxxas grey wide hexes to clear the 2.2's for added steering. I cant run the inner beadlock ring on the J Concepts wheels without rubbage, so the inner beads are glued.

MMM, C drives! The Slash 4x4 uses 6mm outputs, as does the Summit tranny, so the MIP 6mm output must be used on the C-drives all the way around.

The driveshaft barely rubs the left steering bellcrank. With a bit of shaving, and the use of the aluminum upgrade, it should be fine.

Here's the summit tranny and battery set up with the front end. Not sure which way I'll orient the tranny yet...

Wonder how well that front end will hold up to the abuse of crawling.

Awesome project!

Well, I figure the E-revo diff can handle 6S Lipo Mamba Monster Maxx power, so that should be fine, and I can always go with metal CVD's if the sliders fail. I'll probably upgrade to aluminum C's and knuckles too. We'll see!

Thanks!

First thing i thought of when i saw the 4x4 slash was to ditch the chassis and do an ifs rig.

Can't wait to see what you do with this, looks interesting so far!

Cool, didn't know the diff was the same as the e-revo, that should be fine.

I remember back in the day I built an emaxx crawler, diffs held fine, but the plastic shafts would twist right off, tried some mip ones once and they snapped as well.

It'll be sweet if you can get some front shafts to hold up.

You didn't take apart the truck to build this did you? I can't wait to see more.

I did! Crazy right?!? I ran it once last night on 2cell Lipo just to see what I'd be missing. Super fun! I'll rebuild the Slash with new parts once they are available.

I still need to put the spool in the front too..

Thanks!

Man this is gonna be crazy. I like it so far "thumbsup"

MSD is gonna be sicc next year & I can't wait. All of these new builds are making me want something new.

holy cow!! this is going to be amazing! i commend you for having the will to tear apart a new 4x4 slash. is it going to be fully independent or are you going to be the first to build a REAL truggy like the one in the vid?"thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup"
