Mega newbie tough wiring question

Gotta question that might challenge ya. I am building a berg, and I suck at electronics, so heres what I ordered, maybe you can draw up a picture or send a similar picture or describe, how to do this..... I will have two rooster esc's, two fifty five motors, a novak bec two 1400 mah nicad batts and a futaba 6ex twin stick radio. Tell me what the best way to wire this is,so i can have dig or somthing come on guys tackle this one.

ok mainly to tag this thread... but also to throw a curveball...

I AM new to crawling but absolutely not to RC... we run our own shortcourse track at home and have a couple slashs (lol)

In the spring we are going to be getting in material for the track and also planning on getting a load of stone in to get going on a crawler track as well... what would the general population suggest for crawler stone material... size, weight, mix.... any help would be great...

I am sure I will have some specific crawler questions soon... but I havent even received my LNC yet...

Ive decided im bored, and I want to help someone, so I am going to adopt one of you berg noobs. You dont have to be a first time crawler, but if you want to run a berg, and dont know where to start, post up here!!!

First one to post gets the adoption. Lets see if anyone can take info from a 15yr old kid :)

EDIT! Due to recent NOT CARING, if you have ANY QUESTION AT ALL ABOUT ANYTHING TO DO WITH CRAWLING PEASE POST HERE!!!! I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS! LET THEM GET AN INFRACTION!!! If you have a question like "Whut moter fer meh ax-10" post! I will help you with your grammer as well!!!! Thanks

Most people like big, smooth flowing rocks with many elevation changes. A bunch of jagged rocks in a pile gets boring and annoying really quick. May see about getting some oversized river rock thats high traction "thumbsup"

haha, yes definetly upgrade the ESC. The tekin FXR is a great esc for a shafty. Its very small and takes up little space, with awesome drag break and smooth responce "thumbsup" Tires would be your next upgrade, along with axle parts like alum. C's, knuckles, upgraded lockers..etc..

I have a bunch of questions being new to crawling. I'm planning on competing someday.

This is what I'm planning:

1. Change chassis to Rockshow MOA Chassis - Moonbuggy and Standard Cab Design (Which cab, moonbuggy or standard cab?)
2. Rear Links for High Clearance Rockshow
3. Vanquish Products Aluminum Knuckles
4. 86Jeep's steering
5. Wheel Works 2.2 berg offset
6. Dig Switch 2+
7. Tekin 45T front & 55T rear motors
8. Tekin FXR (everything I have now is Tekin)
9. Traxxas Big Bore Aluminum Shocks (4)
10. Thunder Power THP13503SPL2. (All I run is TP)

I have now:

DX3R radio
JR DS8711 servo
Borg 2.2 NIB

Any and all suggestions accepted.

I figured out everything on my own, I love my berg and I used the clocking fixture from a guy on this forum awsome as well, I did wonder why my 6Ex transmitter, onthe right stick you have up and down, and left and right, but on the left stick i only have up and down, i thought it would have left and right as well what up with that.

Noob Here

I am getting my Hustler SE soon, getting it used and I do believe the servos are going to be going out soon, I am not rich but I do'nt want to be replacing them every other month. Which ones do you recommend?

Mitch

HEAVY set-up?

Ok...I'm a newb wanting to get into rock crawling...so here are my questions:

In the "Bully vs Berg" section, some Bully guys talk about preferring a heavy set-up....what are the advantages of a heavy set-up...disadvantages.

Also, I keep seeing lightweight wheels...but then people add weight to them...would it be better to just use heavier wheels?

Sorry if I seem ignorant to the obvious, but if they had a "Rock crawling for dummies" book...I'd buy it! Thanks!:)

I'm assuming it's a Super hustler and not a 2.2. For the bigger trucks you really need to go with some 1/4 scale servos if your on a budget. You can get them for about $30-40 each with over 300oz of tq. But they are BIG and require some custom fitting.

If you go with standard size servos the only ones I could recommend are the titanium gear servos. But cost is about $100 each.

Do those 30 to $40 servos last a good while, based on the cost that is what is seems, am I wrong?

Yeah in the 1/4 scale servos they do. The gears are plastic but they are HUGE. They also make them in metal gear but the price is more. Look for the hobbico brand it's the same as hitec only cheaper. I used the hobbico cs-80 when I used to run a clod. It costs about $33 and had 343oz of tq at 6v.

Before you order one I would look at the specs (size) to make sure you can fit such a large servo on your truck. I had to do some custom work to mount mine to the axle. Let me see if I can find some pics.

That's a 1/4 scale on the front and a standard size on the rear.

Front of truck. When turning the tire just cleared the servo. It was a tight fit.
