KFC Double Down

Saw that South Park episode a few weeks ago. Corbin is my home town, you don't fawk with the Colonel.

I don't see what the big deal is with the double down really. How is it any different than the other fried chicken meals that people eat? I haven't had a chance to try one, but we'll get around to it eventually even though I'm not the biggest fan of fried chicken. The calories though (if what they say is true) are about the same as a Big Mac or the Starbucks Triple Latte Frappe whatever it is.

oh helllllll no! *black girl z-snap thing* if I'm going to do this thing I'm gonna do it right! "thumbsup"

I'm not sure what one to try myself...I may get the fried just to try it:mrgreen:

Yup, you've got it, but some people need something to either drool over or bitch about. I already did 50 min of cardio this morning and will do the same tomorrow morning, then lift after work tonight.......and maybe do some more cardio before I leave there tonight.

Got one for lunch today. Will not be getting one ever again:ror: Whatever "sauce" they put on it is pretty gross, and the chicken on mine was pretty dry. I just had to try one just to say I did!

KFC's Double Down -- the bacon sandwich where two pieces of fried chicken replace the bread -- has been catching a lot of flack lately; much of it deserved. But a quick comparison of the nutritional (for want of a better word) info between the Double Down and some items on the menus at other fast food joints shows that the "warped creation of a syphilitic brain" might not be as bad for you as a salad at Wendy's. According to KFC, the Original Recipe Double Down has 540 calories, 32g of fat and 1380mg of sodium.

With just a quick peek at the websites for Burger King, McDonald's and Wendy's, I had no trouble finding 10 items with higher calorie and fat (and in almost all cases, sodium) counts than the Double Down:

BURGER KING
Triple Whopper:

1160 calories
76g fat
1170mg sodium
Tendercrisp Garden Salad:
670 cals
45g fat
1740mg sodium
Tendercrisp Chicken Sandwich:
800 cals
46g fat
1640mg sodium
Original Chicken Sandwich:
630 cals
39g fat
1390mg sodium

MCDONALD'S
Angus Mushroom & Swiss Burger:

770 cals
40g fat
1170mg sodium
Double Quarter Pounder With Cheese:
740 cals
42g fat
1380mg sodium
Chicken Selects 5-Piece with one packet of Buffalo Sauce:
720 cals
46g fat
2480mg sodium

WENDY'S
Chicken BLT Salad With Honey Dijon Dressing:

720 cals
51g fat
1540mg sodium
Baconator Double:
980 cals
62g fat
1740mg sodium
Southwest Taco Salad with ranch dressing and tortilla strips:
640 cals
36g fat
1590mg sodium

Today I took a Wendy's $2.99 chicken sandwich combo and put it on top of a Double Stack, minus the top bun for the burger. The bacon was the most outstanding flavor, so it was pretty good actually. Took the leftover bun and had a fries sandwich afterwards.

I like to eat lunch at Whole Foods....it has better "scenery" than the fast food joints around here....

I had one for lunch yesterday, It was pretty damn good"thumbsup"

And as a bonus I didn't get sick, KFC usually makes me sick:roll:

I may try the grilled one next"thumbsup"
