Yes. Metal powder goes into a mould and pressed together (like compression moulding), then the whole mould is heated up so the powder fuses together.

With the right chemistry, you can get materials nearly as hard as diamond.

So, I sent out an email yesterday to Axial seeing if they might send a driver to the ROX BOX 24 hour crawl comp and this was the response I got

Our really small local hobby shop pre-ordered 4 kits today.
Hehe, four of us local crawlers walked in all at the same time.

Tower say late July but I'd believe the Axial date is more reliable.
