Axial XR10 Kit

So Brad/Brandon,Since you dropeed this bomb on May 10th, which just happens to be my Birthday (37th for those wondering), does this mean you are sending one to me for my Birthday Present??!! PLEASE!! hehe

Axial now says on their xr10 site that it will be available August 2010...

i was so hyped that my lhs said they were hoping it would be a few weeks... not 3 months... :( guess i'll just save up and get ready for it.. while i turn my ax10 into a scaler.. ha ha

Yup, crawler looks good...

Add campaign sucked...

"Showing" the crawler on May 10th is great...

Release to public date being 3 months later...ridiculous...

Good God, who makes these add and release date decisions at Axial? A monkey throwing its turds at a calender?

Brad, Brandon and everyone at Axial, damn good job. "thumbsup"

I definitely think you have the next top crawler if the axles and gears hold up. I will be picking one of these up.

Not a very good attitude....

Sadly I will agree with eritex here.
I love what axial does for our hobby, darn I own 4 rigs based on their stuff and I will stiil buy their stuff to support the one who supports us.
Since I am no engineer or mechanical Einstein I have to bow to their coninuous ingenuity.
But from the managerial aspect, which happens to be my job, they do not seem to fare very well in many many aspects.

Anyway they will sell loads of XR10s for sure. I might be one of them buyers.

No different than 1:1 car companys releasing pics and info out years before you can buy the car. (GM volt...)

...but im with you Eritex. Just dont tell us untill the product is damn near ready to ship.

That being said, I remeber Losi Moa kit pics being "leaked" atleast a month before I could order it.

I disagree. I believe what I have stated is more in line with what the general public thinks then any other line of thought. I am excited for the new crawler, think Axial has done its homework, and with Axial quality it will be an outstanding crawler. What I have an issue with, be it a small one, is Axial treating their customer base like a bunch of ADD riddled children by first asking "Guess whats behind my back" for 3 months and then finally showing the children it is an ice cream cone. Now that the children know it is the ice cream cone, and one they have been wanting and asking for, Axial says "You can have it in 3 months".

Announcement of a new product to unveiling should be no more then 6 weeks, tops. Unveiling to REAL release to the public, another 6 weeks. The whole precess should fit into a 3 month window, not 6+ months.

Not quite true. First mention by me was around 7-01-2009 with the "spy" shots the next day. Pre-ording for the first 50 conversions started 7-13-2009, first kits shipped by 8-10-2009. From the time the first mention of the MOA conversion till the first ones shipped was less then 45 days. They were an "in-stock" item within 70 days of first mention.

Now before ANYONE says that comparing a conversion kit with 10 parts and 30 pieces of hardware to a full crawler kit is bogus, please remember that I was dealing with design, prototyping, testing, outside vendors and manufacturers as well as manufacturing on my end, marketing, packaging, shipping, customer service, and other product lines at the same time and all from a 1 man shop. If I can juggle all of that I see no reason why Axial has to drag this out for 6+ months.

Once again, I am exited for the XR10 kit to actually be released. I just do not like the way in which Axial has chosen to bring it to market"thumbsup"

Meh, trying to generate buzz I guess. Lot's of companies do it. Blizzard entertainment will announce a game they plan to release in 2+ years. It is annoying though.

I agree with Eritex. Especially on something like this. They should've been ready to start shipping before the reveal. But hey, I pre-ordered, and I will wait for mine

I'm also with Eritex on this one. I was a business major and took quite and interest in marketing. This latest offering from Axial, while I'm sure it will be a great product is a huge marketing fail. It was totally unnecessary.

like a bunch of ADD riddled children by first asking "Guess whats behind my back" for 3 months and then finally showing the children it is an ice cream cone. Now that the children know it is the ice cream cone, and one they have been wanting and asking for, Axial says "You can have it in 3 months".

:lmao: best way to describe how it is going on.

i want the truck but i don't plan on getting it anytime soon. it was driving me nuts waiting to see what it was for 3 months though.
if i had a use for it and planned on buying it i would care about it being released 3 months from now

X2!!

For me Axial could of just keep the whole "guess what it is" B.S. and the day they announced they have an M.O.A. it still would be a big deal and big $$ for them.

100% agreed

I agree also. So basically they've caused months of impatient waiting. My guess is over the last few months they have been developing the xr10. Now it needs to be tested. This is a good thing if true and hopefully by the time we can actually buy one all the bugs will be worked out. But months of waiting sucks. Only thing that I can think of is that they did this so that those thinking moa would wait for them instead of going berg or bully,or another besides Axial. I just bought berg axles two weeks ago. I was actually gonna put them up for sale and buy this, but now that it's August i'm moving forward with my Berg build and I'll consider buying one down the road sometime. Not gonna put my whole summer of crawling on hold for one for sure.
I still think it's gonna be awesome, but a little drawn out for sure.
