Harley's XR10 #AX50062

Skins go good with the body color and the beadlocks!"thumbsup"
This is a great write up, very informative. This for someone like me who is going to be getting his first ever moa rig when I get my XR10. I noticed you suggested using a Rocker dig in one of your set ups. I've seen people disapprove of this unit, is it worth getting? It doesn't short out so the rear will only freewheel and not lock, is this right?

You are correct. I would suggest the Punk Dig over the rocker for that reason if you can afford the difference I would say it is WELL worth it. I am actually going to ammend that post

Is there any other way to mount the Front Servo? Some way so it's not just hanging out front?

I have not seen an immediate solution to that. Right now I don't see it as being a huge problem as there is no tie rod up front. If there was a tie rod to get hung up then I would feel a stronger sense of urgency to figure out an alternative.

I would think with only one side hooked up. It leaves a Huge gap for Rocks to get pinned between the Tire and Servo Horn, Jamming you up. It's something I notice right off the bat. Seemed like a Half ass design on the steering to me. I love the Steering Rod on the back side going through the Case, but the Servo placement and mount just seem like an after thought to me.... But it wasn't enough to scare me away from buying a XR10...:)

I've talked to a few guys and they thought the same thing.

Between the tire and horn is no different than any other steering really. That doesn't worry me.

Wheels are on!

HOWEVER!

The Vanquish Products SSZ's will NOT work a 225 offset hub on these axles. The pocket on the back side of the wheel is not deep enough. I had to go to 350 hubs all the way around.

I have seen these wheels modified to fix this problem but it requires machining.

Pics in a few.

No different then it doesn't have a tie rod going from knuckle to knuckle. Which leaves leaves a Gap on one side. Not sure you got what I was talking about. So I photoshoped you this.."thumbsup"

A rock jammed here not only hangs you up, but takes your Steering out as well.

Internal Wheel Rings

Now this is just a personal tuning method. I used a set I had made previously for these wheels. These rings are 3.75" OD and made from .125" polycarbonate. These keep the foam from folding over when side hilling, but they allow you still run a super soft foam. Again this is just something I have found has worked well for me. I only run these in the front wheels

I thought you were talking about the other side of the servo horn. I can see what you are looking at there and it is a possibility, but I would say at the same time that would just be a bad choice of line :ror:

I'm sure we will all play with steering options, look at how far Berg steering has evolved in the last 2 years

Just turn right! :ror:

You can't....... All that would do is push the servo into the rock harder. Since your tire would be trying to turn into the rock.making that Gap tighter. There has to be a better way to mount that servo.

Come on Josh use that CAD program of yours and think of something. Unless you can't do it. :ror:

John I figured you say choose a better line, But sometimes you know there is nothing you can do.;-)

I got an idea for it, but it will take some thinking, I get my kit tomorrow.
It's going to get weird around here soon.

I would just take a reverse.

The build is great Harley"thumbsup"
