FFWF's Budget Bomber Build

There's a part of me that misses my Holmes 540XL 3500kv. It's just brutal power that makes you giggle with every trigger pull. I wish I could try one out on the new MMX firmware to see for myself. I ran it on the same MMX when I had one and smooth was not the word I would use to describe it. I have no doubts the new firmware improved low speed control though. It made my Holmes non XLs feel even better than I thought was possible for brushless. Very interested to hear your thoughts, FFWF.
Seriously? I wish I could say the same. Mine, of course, got much smoother after the software update, but the cogging did not completely disappear. I also have the drag brake cogging that I haven't figured out yet. Do you mind sharing your MMX settings?

I would love to share if I could. We're still unpacking after the big move and I have no idea where my laptop or Castle link are. As soon as I find everything I'll PM you my settings but both my trucks running MMXs and Puller Pros (2200kv and 3500kv) are smooth as a baby's bottom. I only experienced cogging on full throttle starts from a dead stop with my 2200kv motor. If the truck was even slightly rolling I could hit full throttle with no issues and from a dead stop I could hit roughly 75% throttle with no cogging. I specifically remember adding 30% punch control and switching from high to medium startup power. The cogging was gone. Again, this was only on my 2200kv. My 3500kv never cogged no matter what settings I used. I fixed the issue with my 2200kv setup long before this newest software update. I do remember noticing that the newest update felt smoother on startup though.

Sick build! I do a lot of 1/1 builds, new to the hobby so this makes me feel right at home.

Thanks man, I still only have a pile of parts!!! :lmao:

My VP top shaft, came with an incorrect pin/dowel that is supposed to fit into the top gear. Pin won't fit through the holes in the shaft, or the gear. Calling around LHS today, but not holding my breath. Worst comes to worst, I'll have to wait on the one VP mailed out yesterday

I absolutely cant wait!
