Tech thread: CrawlMaster 540

Holy crap:shock: I've been wanting exactly that forever. Sign me up for a couple 27t equivelents"thumbsup". I'm thinking both my XR10 and scale rigs8)

These are a 540 motor, in essence. Looking at one built up, you wouldn't know it was any different than a normal 540.

Performance on these is not as nuts as the Puller. They are easier to control, have less overall power, and do not produce as much torque. Hence, it also gives better runtimes than the Puller.

So how will the 550 compare to the puller?

hmm 27t on 4s and reduced arcing?

sign me up!

uhh and I have a few ttc rigs that want 550's you just gave me hope!

The 550 size will be the puller replacement. How the specs stack up against the OG is yet to be seen, I am waiting on more parts to finish them.

The pic in the first post is after one hour of running the 27t speed motor on 4s at zero timing. Not too shabby comm condition eh?

Here is a pic showing the typical wind used in a 5 slot, vs. my own wind. Can you believe that my pattern wind has more copper volume than the one on the left? It doesn't look like it, but indeed it is. Electrically, both winds are identical. When it comes down to it, I can easily fit 30% more on with the pattern wound. Since the winding time is a large part of the cost, we may offer the non pattern wound version at a lower cost if it turns out to be any faster to fabricate.

First post updated with a link to the product as well

Here is a bit closer look between them. Crack open your Cobalt Puller, your Pullmaster, your MPI cobalt, or whatever you have with multi poles. They all have the same type as the left vs. my Double Duplexed pattern.

This motor is exactly what I want, the ability to creep and go fast:shock:. I think we need an outside video though so we can really get a perspective of the speed.

Holy Sh!t Balls Im a puller Fanatic ill thin my puller herd if the 550 will stand up to it!!!!!!!!!! Will you offer a a matched set of the new motor

I will sell just the arms once the lot hits the shores. Once I get a few more built up I will take some outside vids. I sent off my only built ones for some extra personal perspective.

How do 550's compare dimensionally to the pullers?
I like my 14T's on 6s but I need a shorter motor to make room for the series harness. I'm running the Eritex MOA brackets so I don't think can diameter will be a problem.

The 550 will be a standard 550 can, 65.6mm from mount face to end. As I may have said before, it might be part of the Puller brand depending on how the final construction pans out. I have both 28mm and 23mm diameter rotors here and need just a few more parts to finish the 550 design.
