OK, I looked on RC4WD and searched in here to no avail.

I am looking for:

1-A set-up/operation manual for Bully axles
2-Parts list/exploded view for Bully axles

My son built me a 2.2 Bully rig with parts from here & GSRCRC, so obviously I have no documentation, but I can't seem to find it anywhere I looked.

I would just like to know more about them as the OEM intended, then go from there.

Anyone know of a source, preferably online??

I am an ex facilities guy, I like documentation on stuff."thumbsup"

i asked for one either a manual or just some pics before i took mine apart to grease them. I was just told to take apart and take pics as i went. It was really easy with no problems. But i could not find anything except one thread on the rc4wd forum and it had a couple pics of getting ready for a comp. But it was not detailed at all

Bump........

Part of my issue is that I started with used axles, thus have no clue "how things should feel" when new. I am now guessing on fits for various parts.
I know some have mentioned using a plastic washer by the hex drive pin to reduce slop (I have the same slop) but don't know "how much is normal".

Shrug. Just trying to see if there was OEM documentation out there (or a really detailed writeup of what to check/how to set up).

Krakker, thanks for the link.

I have found the various "Bully Secrets" threads/stickies and read them all.....a few times at least.
What you linked is yet another, maybe I can add usefull info later.

OK, so RC4WD basically stated (in an email to me):

1-Check RCC for info & build threads
2-Look here.... https://store.rc4wd.com/Bully-Axle-Parts_c_97.html for more info.

They don't have a parts manual or a users manual.
Since my bully axles bought used, I can't complain much, but I find it borderline unacceptable.

So....I guess I will do a photo breakdown with "descriptions" and hopefully it will jive with RC4WD's people so we can order parts.
I will say that if I had the same attitude with my customers, I would be told where to go.....and it wouldn't be RCC.......:flipoff:

No offense, but these axles come assembled, so why is there a need for a user manual? If they arrive assembled and you take them apart, then put it back together in the reverse order. That link has every part you'll need.

True, but as I stated:

1-These are used, so I have no clue what new ones feel like
2-These are used, so I have no clue what is worn inside without buying new parts and comparing.
3-Having a parts manual lets me order correct parts, I don't know (without asking) if a newer version part will fit my axle.

Not trying to beat a dead horse, just not how I am used to doing things. I can STILL get ALL the manuals for my Associated 12th & 10th pan cars, even my original RC12-e from the early 80's. These are all on their website.

I guess RC4WD does things different and everyone accepts it. shrug.

How will a user manual or parts explosion tell you what something "feels like"??

The only parts that will wear are the bearings....and yes, they are crap. In another thread in this section, I listed quite a few of the bearing sizes.

The parts listed in the link that RC4WD gave you are all of the replacement parts. Also, a user manual wont tell you what newer parts will fit your model....it will only give the existing parts. It cant predict the future.

Were these kits or ARTR/RTR? The only time I have ever seen a user manual included is when the vehicle arrives unassembled.

Yep, RC4WD is a MUCH smaller company than Associated...."thumbsup"

I managed the RC section of a hobby shop for 7 years and every kit, ARTR and RTR came with a manual and a parts break down (Associated, Traxxas, Losi, HPI, Duratrax...etc).

No way. I have quite a few cars from those companies and they didn't come with a user manual (some might have a parts explosion).

Either way, RC4WD is not even half as big as ANY of those companies. You want to drive the price on their parts up, demand that they hire more employees to write these manuals. Personally, I like their prices lower. But then, I don't have a problem remembering how something gets assembled when I take it apart. When this hobby started, there wasnt a company out there that produced a RTR or ARTR crawler....let alone one with a manual to go along with it. The only thing even close was Tamiya (which we used for the axles) and their manuals were in a different language.

Finally, this is a moot point....arguing about something on the internet wont change the minds of a company. If you don't like their products, then don't buy them...hurting their profits might make them change their minds.

Man this is great, thanks I needed a good laugh.

I think your both right.

RC4wd doesn't need a manual, there is no way a manual is gonna tell you how things should feel when they are new or if they are in spec, no RC manual does that, that I've seen. You have to visual inspect gears and bearings. How should it feel new, smooth and it should spin freely.

I'm sure if RC4wd thought a manual was needed they would create one, they are a really good company and been doing this a long time.

I don't create manuals, I send the parts either assembled or partially and leave it to the user to disassemble and rebuild.

Now I have made online tutorials when things get complicated or require custom mods.

I just don't think a set of Bully axles needs nor warrants a pricey manual, there just simple MOA axles.

Now with all that said an online parts explosion or parts list would be nice that the user could print, mainly just for the bearing sizes so you can order bearings from someone else.

I don't need all the parts numbers and stuff, I order directly from them and it's pretty easy to find the bully parts section and look at the full color pictures and figure out what I need.

I'd also like to see a bearing upgrade kit sold by RC4wd with top notch bearings.

But you go right ahead and take pics and make them a manual, I'm sure they won't complain and if you compile the bearing sizes and sources it will be a well used manual.

and just for the record I have gotten RTRs and ARTRs with and without real manuals and I have more than a couple RC's and more than couple years experience.

OK, OK........the horse is dead, beaten, looking like a frikkin roadkill run over by 100's of 18 wheelers, hard to tell is was even a horse at one point..........:flipoff:

I have found "some" info on RC4WD's site, if I want a "manual" I will do so myself.
I will post it here when complete.
Enough."thumbsup"

(as an aside, with over 25 years in facilities maintenance, 30+ years in RC, etc, this is the FIRST time I have had no real documentation.)

STOP, don't post again until I post something useable........this means YOU:lmao::lmao:

I've been into RCs for about the same amount of time and with all of the kits, rollers and RTRs that I've bought I think this is also the first time I got something without any documentation (Bully ARTR). It isn't always needed but it can be nice to have.

Dude, there Bully axles! Just slap some motors on them and run them they will be fine. The gears are beyond overkill so there is no need to worry about them being worn.
