How many of us would be fined?

When I owned my condo, I had the hood up on my car wiping the dust off my valve covers, inner fenders and what not (just got done washing it). I was fined $150 for "working on my car" in my carport. I appealed it with the HOA and lost. Same HOA that wouldn't do anything about my neighbors dogs that would not stop barking day and night, she was half deaf so se didn't care.

Our monthly dues were $290 (9 years ago). There was minimal landscaping/upkeep and only one pool. The day I sold my condo was one of the happiest days I can remember.

im glad we live in an unrestricted area. because out behind our house it looks like sanford and son 'course we do live on an acre. but our house is all remodeled and is all brand new and kept clean. we live in one of those areas where the property can be commercial.
HOA's were made to keep people like us out. :ror:"thumbsup"

Maybe we should start our own style HOA?

Car on blocks required to be placed somewhere on the property, garage/driveway/carport must be used for auto maintenance, personal expression (IE flags, lights, colors, signs) encouraged, etc...:ror:

No warning first? That's pretty messed up.

HOA board members are elected in....and they can be elected out. She needs to get all of her neighbors together, and let the HOA know that there will be changes during the next election.

Juan, you know this can change. remeber when we all called the pee outta Monster Energy drink for going after that Beer guy. Look how that ended.

Email this addy guys, email it hard and good.

If I was neighbors with this lady, I'd sit in my garage drinking beer every day for hours to show my support "thumbsup"

Not much different from what I do now.

I don't have an HOA at my house, but the condo I rent still does. Every once in awhile I get a letter about something they feel my tenants are doing wrong. I hate HOA's but I also hate the people that have nothing better to do than report their neighbors.

Hahaha!!! We have a development nearby where every house has it's own airplane hangar. I've thought the same thing, a development for gear heads. Instead of a swimming pool, a pit bike MX track or a rock crawling course. Stuff like that.

I love the idea of every house must have one vehicle on blocks. :ror:

I'm down, I have a few vehicles I could loan to people to help them meet qouta.

I seriously cant get over this. I'm amazed that in the 'home of the free' that people are told how to live.

You guys (in certain area's) are put under such stringent restrictions to the way you live. Even if you OWN the property you reside in.

These people would have a fit if they came out to Aust...
I don't live in the bush or in the country, I'm in the suburbs, so are my parents.
At one stage their were 12 Mini's at my Parents place (Ol man used to build them) and they only live on 1/4 acre.
Me & my mates are constantly sitting in the shed sinkin' booze and/or working on someone's car/bike/boat etc. that has shit itself.
They guy next door to me has at least 3 cars parked on his front lawn and is constantly working on his FED in his driveway.
This isn't a rare thing either, or something that only happens in the outer suburbs. It's common all around, even in the inner suburbs of the major cities (I'm talking within 10min drive of the CBD)

Honestly do people have nothing better to do than rat on a lady that is really doing nothing wrong besides going against the HOA's (I had to google what HOA meant...:lmao:) shitty 'rules'.

Now in saying that i can understand some of these rules in something like a gated community and also in apartments & condos...
But out in the 'burbs..doesn't make sense to me.

But this is just my AUD$.02:lmao:

On paper it looks great. Everyone in the neighborhood maintaining their property for the sake of property value, but just like any government it's corrupted quickly and easily.

You should know, these folks are made aware of these regulations before they purchase the house....and sign a contract saying they will abide by them. That said, I agree with you.

Totally agree, you guys got some shitty rules going on.

Move down under and do what ever the f ck you like on your own property or a rental with in reason.

Yeah i realised that bit, but what I'm getting at is the regulations aren't really needed to begin with.

What i can't work out is the fine... How the f ck do you get a fine from you neighbour?
If someone over here gave their neighbour a fine, they would be told where to put it and how to use it."thumbsup":lmao:
And to that fact, what happens if you do not pay said fine? Its not like they can lock you up for it, its not gov't issued fine. Or cant they... This shit baffles me.

Either way because of this I'm going to go and pull something apart in my driveway with my rattle gun...
Just because i can..:lmao:

EDIT: And drink some rum while im at it..."thumbsup"

You are right, they arent. That is why I will not live in a neighborhood with an HOA...

The HOA (as a group) will issue the fine...if you dont pay the fine, they will put a lien on your house....

Dont worry, you arent the only one who is baffled and appalled by these actions....I will never understand why someone would subject themselves to this type of regulation. To add insult to injury, most HOAs charge annual fees! :ror:

fawk HOA. i clean out forclosed homes for the realistate company and last summer i was doing one and had picked up a basketball goal from the prior one and set it off of the trailer to get the lawn mower off the trailer and other equipment to mow the grass also(have to do that also with the job) and a guy(the head of the HOA) in that neighborhood came over and asked me and the helpers if we were moving in and going to set up that goal? and called the law and the rest of the board on my company.they are a bunch of dicks in my opinion.and also in one community i mow grass in,you cant own a pickup unless it has a camper shell of parked in garage out of site,or like another member said no commercial vehicles.how do you make a living then?lol guess you are retired and dont have to work to live somewhere like that i guess.:lmao:

Dezfan................ I want to see that house have orange on it next lol
And for the hoa, I'm glad they're not in my neighborhood because literally my yard has a toilet and a barbecue and a fridge as plant holder/potter lol
