Experiences with the Hitec HS-7955TG servo?

I have an axial SCX10 with high steer knuckles and vcd`s on and my current servo pulls 10kg...and thats way too little when I have full turn with a little pressure on the tires, then its not capable to turn back to neutral or the other way. At full turn the servo arm almost points straight to the side. Will the 7955 do the job? With 24kgs it shouldnt be any problems? Even when I have full turn and with pressure on the wheels? I want to turn when I want to turn, not when the servo wants to... Sorry for some weird english....

EDIT:forgot to mention I have the Nocak Rooster Crawler ESC. is there any need for an external BEC or will the internal do the job?

I've been running the HiTec 7955TG for steering in my 2.2 Bully rig.
Overall, I like it, but yes, there are times I wish for a little more. The flip side is, what will I break if I upgrade the servo??:roll::shock:
I found that the current draw from the servo was enough to force me to run a CC BEC, it works MUCH better now as well as cured the "radio dieing" I had before.

So yes, get the servo, but add in an external BEC. I am overvolting the servo a bit to get more torque.;-)

I'm running a two year old, hand me down 7955 on my SCX with a Hand Bros CMS...works like a charm, and has torque to burn in a scale truck.
You shouldn't be disappointed with it in you SCX.

Now to BEC's.
CC BEC is the best...Simply because using the castle link you can adjust is and also its a 10amp bec. (overkill is good"thumbsup":mrgreen
You might be able to get away without one though.
A 7955 pulls 5amps at stall and the internal BEC on the rooster is rated a 5amps...But saying that, if in doubt BEC it up.

I stick to Castle Creations for my BEC's (thus my CC BEC in my original post).
Since we (my son & I) have a few CC BEC's as well as CC ESC's, we own a CClink so we can program/adjust things. A bit cheaper & easier that way."thumbsup""thumbsup"

There are other external BEC's out there, we use the CC brand ones though.

I swapped to a 7950. Makes more torque and is rated to a higher input voltage. I run Castle BEC's to up the voltage. It's one of them things, you always want more.

Thanks guys Ill try without a BEC first and see how it works.
BECs arent expensive in norway either so that I can buy here. But the servo I buy in the US. About half the price compared to norway...

A weak servo drawing proper amperage will be stronger than a strong servo not getting proper amperage,no sense getting the badboy if your not going to power it...its like building a 1000$ rig and powering it with a
5$nimh battery....may be a 1000$rig but it wouldnt drive like one"thumbsup"

Or, like putting $20 lathe motors on a $1000 set of axles.....:lmao::lmao:

I would get the BEC at the same time you get the better servo and be done with it.
