4xFord's Team Y-Town XR10

Also, I got this rig in some serious binds this weekend without any popping noises. Seems like the RC4WD gears are the real deal. "thumbsup"

That's great news....I been saying it's hard to beat the beef and price of the rc4wd gears...but not many want to belive me since I drive for them..haha

I'm not sure 300m or similar material gears will even be needed if the gears are holding up this well!!

Ya I don't forsee needing to replace these, maybe the locker gear at some point, but idk.

My wife shot some pics at our comp this weekend, Here's a few of the comp spot in general, the seawall on Galveston Island, Tx.

Yeah it was. What gears does Jason have? I heard his poping at that spot.

He is running axial machined final gears, the rest is stock with HR housings.Mine was popping also in that section and has made that same noise before with no signs of problems.Im also running axial machined finals and the rest stock.Im waiting for axial to get the rest of the gears I need back instock.Been waiting for two monts:twisted:

We got some time to play around at the last comp. Here is a clip of a gap jump from a standstill. I didn't think it was possible but stuck it 2 of 3 tries. These motors are pretty sweet!

That was awesome to watch, your XR jumps better than my savage!

Well in the past 2 weeks this rig has seen some insane binds without making a peep. These RC4WD gears are the real deal. "thumbsup"

That is an understatment! There were plenty of XRs at the Texas State Finals this past weekend and yours was the only one not popping and making other funky noises. I seriously thought you were going to break the entire truck on gate 7 of the TXRCO course....but it took the abuse like a champ!

Those RC4WD gears are the bee's tits! "thumbsup"

Funny and true :lmao:

My upper axle half hasn't wallowed back out and seems to be holding nice and tight. I don't see myself buying the aluminum ones, don't want to add the weight, and I am really happy with the rigs durability. However, I did have this idea....

They are 3mm brass inserts that tighten into the axle case when you thread a screw through them. I don't have any time on them so I can't reccomend them yet, but so far they look promising.

So does that mean they use 3mm screws or they are 3mm OD? That does look like it would solve a couple of problems.

Did you have to drill out the holes any at all?

Nice work "thumbsup"
