Just curious on how many guys here are into Import or Euro cars? I've been into imports for about 15 years now and I've tried the big truck thing to try to fit in with my buddies here in Indiana, but I just keep going back to imports.

Started with a 85 Honda Prelude SI for me, First import car and I fell in love with the trend. I bought it in 1997 and have never lost the love.

I've had turbo Civics, and a few other nice tuners, but my new ride is a 2002 Civic SI hatch. I've been searching for one for quite some time and finally found a good one! Its not a hugely popular model of civic, but it has its own fan base. I just got it about 3 months ago and have done a little to it so far. I'm planning on dropping in a RSX typeS motor in it next summer and possibly doing a Jackson Racing Supercharger. But this summer its likely getting a paint job, going all white with it! Then doing a HFP lip kit on it. Its very similar to the JDM TypeR civic sideskirts and lips.

I've been doing all of this stuff long before any of the Fast and Furious crap too. But somehow, everyone into the import scene gets stereotyped as one of those "punks" trying to rice out a 4 banger and run 10's in the quarter.

Post up a pic of your ride if you got any!

Here's mine as it sits right now. Trying to sell the wheels though to get some new ones, Looking at the Volk CE28N or the 5Zigen GN+. Or maybe I'll just cheap out and get some Rota Circuit 10's. No matter what they are, they will be bronze colored.

I've owned a few imports...

89 Golf with a few mods...
1999 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT stock...
1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX...

My new interest believe it or not are Volvo's...like early model 242's. Bolt on some mods and turbo and you've got some good reliable RWD power ;-). Plus no one ever expects a brick of a Volvo to blow your doors off.

This is the first car i have ever owned and i am loving it! I would like to do the simple bolt on mods like intake, exhaust, and a tune for i good HP boost. But i would really like to do some handling mods and take it to the track.

I prefer roses."thumbsup"

I thought Civics were chick cars?

I must be getting old.

I guess they probably are. I normally call it my bitch, ****, whore, or something along those lines.

Scions are the real chick cars. LOL!!

I've had a few imports over the years, but only one that I modified, sorry, "tuned", and that was a '91 Eclipse GST. I don't know wtf I did with the pics though...I did make it into SCC's Readers Rides page though...thought that was kinda cool.

Nothing too exciting on the outside. Debadged, adjustable coilovers, 17's from a '00 Eclipse. 2 1/2" exhaust with a dual chamber Flowmaster clone muffler.

And nothing too exotic looking under the hood. The K&N filter is about the only thing that stands out. What you don't see is the butt load of port & polish work I did on nearly every part that moves air and the larger Evo exhaust manifold.

A few years ago I bought a 89 Prelude Si 4WS because I wanted to try the 4 wheel steering. An all mechanicle 4WS system, brilliant. That car was a frickin blast to drive.

I'm on my 16th (or 17th, I can't remember) car and out of the sporty cars, I think it was the funnest cornering. My current car is a 06 WRX and it handles great. Much better then the 89 Honda...
But the Prelude was like driving a go cart. I felt like I could toss it around corners like back in my dirt bike days... pure fun.

Perhaps I pushed it a little to far a few times and the front tires would break loose but a quick correction and it was back on it's line. Amazing little machine. Back in 87 it surprised everyone. Here's a snipit from Wikipedia:
In 1987, Road & Track published a test summary that shows the 1988 Honda Prelude 2.0Si 4WS outperforming every car of that year on the Slalom, including all Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Porsches. It went through the slalom at 65.5 mph (105.4 km/h), an amazing result for the time. For reference, the 1988 Corvette took the same course at 64.9 mph (104.4 km/h).
The Prelude was Wheels magazine's Car of the Year for 1987.

A co-worker had a later model with electronically controlled rear steer, but the brain would hic-up every few minutes and blip the rear of the car sideways as you were driving. Scary.

That's exactly why I wanted the mechanical! Man that would suck.
You know, the first few times I took that car on the highway... It scared the dookie out of me. All steering input was exaggerated. My bro in law drove it and on the first right he almost drove us into the curb, I told him it didn't take much :lmao:
He's a BMW guy... 1988 6 Series that is.

I have a spoiler on my VW! "thumbsup"

ok, here's the cool factor scale test.
Dezfan, is your spoiler:
A. A subtle factory ad on to gain more apeal from the traget demographic.
B. A 2 foot tall carbon fiber, platnium, space age material sort of thing.
C. Made of wood.
